From what I know there was a speedster project, but it's been shelved, maybe in years to come it will be pulled off the shelves again, who knows.

Still gently bubbling on the back burner, but the heat is beginning to rise methinks!

Boot hinges are not planned to be visible, and hence not attract rust and dirt as per Classic Mini, however you can purchase stick on 'dummy' hinges from all good Mini aftermarket accessory stores.

You can even get a glass fibre 'classic' lookalike front end that sits over the new MINI's own, with lights and everything. what is the point?

The old mini boot hinges were a nightmare ! They collected every bit of dirt possible and had more nooks and crannys than Wookie hole.

I'm going for the current line up as standard cabrio, maybe gaining the speedster when the current model is replaced. There seems to be enough interest in the current model and no doubt in the forthcoming cabrios that to add a 3rd body style is not needed...

IMHO: it does look ugly stuck up there, like an after-thought. Overall profile would look much sleeker without an aerial. They could imbed the antenna into the windshield glass.

i don't think i dig that antenna on the front of the windshield! can't they put it into the windshield? some cars have that instead of an ariel antenna.
i am loving the OPEN though. i don't know if i can part with my silkgreen. ugh........the agony! what to do?

It has to go somewhere, rear screen, and side windows have been looked at, but with roof and windows out of the way, reception is a probem. You could fit an aftermarket antenna?, or maybe the design will change before launch, knowing our past history it will change before lunch .

Order an orange one, you'll luurve it
