The GREAT MINI Convertible Rumour Mill....

In the same vein as the old "The GREAT 2004 Model Year Rumour Mill" from General Discussion, I thought we could have one to match in the Convertible section.

So, we've confirmed on here it's called the MINI Convertible.

It will come in all forms (One, Cooper and S).

It will be released in the UK Sat 26th June 2006, USA is still saying "Summer", but that's probably August/September.

Two new colours should arrive just for the Convertible, one is a new Metallic Blue, and one is Metallic Orange. Called Hot Orange and Cool Blue.

For some colours we expect the option of colour coded dashes.

There will be black and blue roof options, but only black for the MINI One.

Most of the "rumours" can be found in the new section, more so than here: www.mini2.com/news/

From what I can gather the top of the roof folds back or within its self just like a webasto sunroof.

Regarding the H/K:

"H/K are currently finishing off the design for the rear speakers of the Mini Convertable ready for 2004. They will use a 165mm in the rear quarters where as your car has a 6x9."

Is it true the panoramic sunroof option will not be avialable on the Cabrio? That'll be a pity it's nice to have that feeling of open space and smell of fresh air...

My dealer has told me that as part of the chilli pack for the cooper there will be 17" 5-star alloys and a trip computer. I was told that there is going to be a blue, white, red and back roofs. Ive also got a picture of the roof partly opened and one of the boot down.

that is one ugly looking roof. what happens to the rods the cables are in, once the roof is down? looks like the roof on the old, and cheap citreon c2.

Thanks for posting those poppet.

The first pic of the cabrio with its roof partly open looks like it has a roll cage right behind the front seats.

In that picture of the Yellow cabrio does it have a yellow interior or is that just the sun shining on beige interior making it look lighter?
