| MINI2 Senior | Limited Cabrio in US?! Just last week I talked to a MINI rep. at the Washington D.C. auto show. He said they aren't planning on bringing more than 400 convertibles to the U.S. the first year. That seems awfully low. Has anybody else heard about plans for the American market? |

Offline | MINI is selling about 25,000 cars a year. So 400 is a total drop in the bucket.. Or as google calculator would like to say: (assuming equal sales every month) and that we get it for 4 months, thats 8333 cars sold, 400 extra cars is oh, 5%.... Seems rather insane, and there's 70 or so dealers, that'd mean that each one would get about 1 car/month. Facts just don't seem right. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. Offline | Unless it doesn't arrive as early as some speculate. Late summer sounds like August to me, which would mean only 1 month of 04 convertibles before the Sept. changeover to 05's. 400 for one month sounds a lot different. |

Offline | But why bother? If the 'new' updated cars are '05, and the convertibles will only arrive in late summer with the '05 changes, they should be '05s as well... Doesn't make any sense to sell one month of '04s in the US I think, it'd just be confusing marketing, and everyone would wait a month anyway. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

| Trained Monkey | In the UK/some other places I believe we'll get it in Cooper & One form, then it will come out in S form at the same time as the Cooper & S in the States, although I'm not 100% sure on this. The Convertible will have all the '05 changes from the start (or at least most of them). |
