Offline | Hi, my name is Jon and although I am not currently a MINI owner, I am on the list at Barons of Farnborough for a MINI Cabriolet!! Just wondered what was actually known about the cabrio?? Will it be an electric or manual roof? Will the roof dissapear out of sight or will it sit on top? Have BMW hidden the hinges on the rear boot lid? New colours? Delivery dates? To be honest, Im not to worried about any of this.... just can't wait for my first MINI! |

Offline | Hi - I am also on the list for a Cabrio - do a search theres loads of stuff on here including quite a few pics Check the news section as well - there are some excellent recent photos of the roof mechanism etc. PS its an electric roof but not as we know it!! I think i'm right in saying that its going to be controlled by cables rather than hydraulics - check the pics anyway Cometh the Hour, Cometh the MINI |

Offline | Just spoke with my local Mini dealer, and was told that a June 2004 delivery has been announced for the cab. She was not able to quote a price for me, however, stating that it was still too early to price. If anyone hears anything different, I'd be curious to know. As for myself, I have thought long and hard about my next car purchase, and have decided that for the price, the Cooper S was the way to go for me (I was close to going with a M3 cab, if that says anything about the types of cars I am interested in). This whole convertible issue throws a new twist into my plan as I really do enjoy driving my girl around topless, and don't know if I should wait or not... and if so, don't have a clue how much more cash the drop top will cost: will it place the Cooper S MSRP into the realm of serious buyers only, or will it still pack the most fun for the price? Anyway, just one man's rant. Any new info on price points/delivery dates would be appreciated as I don't have the time to bug my dealer every week. |

Offline | My local dealer has also quoted delivery for June (Cooper - not CooperS). No exact prices, but several sources (including my dealer) have suggested a £2k premium over the normal models. Also mentioned he'd probably be in touch in Feb or March with details for me to start speccin'! ![]() |

Offline | Hi NuVoix. Just dug out my receipt from Sytner's. I'm afraid it was a while ago - 26th August last year! The day before I placed my deposit (£100), I was told they had 14 others already. Looks like this little Cabrio could be a bit popular. |
