Electic Blue S

I would just like to see the specs and options, I hope they include things like alarms and sports seats as standard due to the premium paid over the normal Cooper ( sorry Cooper owners I am not starting a class divide but you know what I mean), also I would like the S chille pack option on the Cooper convertible - thats another thing will we be able to spec it to a works to recover lost performance, as It will help me remember what my S was like, if when it comes to it I can let it go.

Anyway we will be the 33rd Cooper convertible driving away from Damon Hill in Leamington sometime when, who knows and they only have 7 more deposits to take before they have used all their quota - so be quick spend your Ł500.

I suppose the smart money will take the Cooper order the S and sell the Cooper for a premium - did i really say that - sorry!

Can't wait - but will have too.

im interested in the following:

1) roof up / down mechanism (how does this work) and storage of the roof whilst down.
2) does the roof come in one colour only?
3) what security devices are fitted to the roof locking mechanism
4) does the factory fitted alarm work with this model / come with the convertible
5) how much boot space
6) is the a-frame reinforced as a roll bar, has the been redesigned or just strengthened
7) wheel options ( any new ones)
8) convertible only colours exteriors / interiors
9) winter hard top roof kit is it planned to be available?

plus lots of video of the car.

thanks. keep up the great work on here Paul...

Questions

Paul,

How about:

o Launch date in US
o Price
o Colors

I must say I attended the North American Auto Show in Detroit (Motor City ) a few weeks ago and MINI had the best display of everyone. Others were quite scaled back from previous years.

I've got one on order so would like to know colour choices and trim options.
A pdf of the brochure or press pack would be great on this site especially if it had prices and options.

Also what will be standard on the Cooper. Lets hope at least that leather is standard. At least you can dry leather seats!

i think you mean that the roof slides back to leave a gap instead of fully reclining.

You're right Mini Mad. Now that I've seen a picture of the way the roof works, I guess it makes sense. I just wonder how noisy its going to be?

i would expect the noise to be similar to having a sunroof open on a hard top

1) is there enough space above the head for people larger than1,90m because i heard the cabrio roof should be lower than the normal roof which is great for me.

2) are the rear seats located at the same place or are they moved towards the frontseats because of the folding mechanism and the roll over protection. can 4 adults as they say easily sit in the car ?!

3) whats included in the GERMAN CHILLI Package and how much more will the 5 Star Bullet Wheels R91 cost with the CHILLI Package.

4) Prices in Germany for the Cooper and the Chilli Pack and the colored dashboard.

5) Does the Cabrio have the new GEARTEC Gearbox build in.

6) Does the Cabrio have the new SportSeats

7) Will DARK SILVER be availible for the Cabrio.

8) Good Quality PICTURES of the Cool Blue or every MINI Cabrio they have at the Show.

9) How is the Rear Window folded into the Boot ? behind the seats or flat on Top of the boot..

Would be nice if you could get some Information because i want to Order one and i think youŽll be quicker to gather some Information than the Guys in the Store

Thanx Andreas / Berlin

Paul, could you find out how many of these are going to be built a year.
I am number three on the list at my local dealer and want to know how long I will have to wait after the initial "on sale" date for my car?
To Tim who has a car on order at Damon Hill, You should go to Evesham as their waiting list was a lot shorter than Leamington when I ordered mine, although that was nearly a year ago

Dunno if this is the sort of info they would have available, but if poss, what insurance groups the various models are likely to fall in to?

Question Mini Cabrio @ Geneva - My shopping list

I'd love to know:

What the new "Cool Blue" looks like in the flesh
When the left-hooker will be delivered
How robust the hood is (ie sound and temperature insulation)
Will the electric steering be any quieter?

I really envy you - wish I could go to Geneva!

Cheers

Ian

I'd like to know:

1) will I be able to get my golf bag in through the gap when a rear seat back is dropped.
2) Can you order a spare tyre with the ONE/Cooper convertibles.
3) Prices.
4) Confirmed release date given the current speculation of delays.
5) Will there be new standard seats (hard top question as well)

Paul, you're a good man.
1. Price.
2. US Delivery date
3. Your honest opinion on looks, does it take away from a MINI? The initial pictures I have seen looks like a VW Cabriolet, which has turned me off a little.

Thanks, Mike

I'll be spending pretty much all the time there in the MINI section, as after all that's what I'm there to see. I shall of course be armed with a Digital Still and Digital Video Camera.

So, I thought I'd give you all the chance to tell me anything specifically you'd like me to find out, ask, take photos or video of from the event.

I will then do my best to get everything snapped, filmed, and answered in time for my return, to make it as successful and beneficial a trip to everyone as possible.

Please keep this on topic and fairly "tidy" so I don't miss anything when the time comes to compile and use the list.

Thanks.

Please please check out the WINDSCREEN to see if they have made it any thicker or if they have changed it at all? Is it not about time and a good oppotunity to finally get the screen sorted?

Anyway, I'll see what I can get for you tomorrow, I wont be back in the country until about 11pm UK time, so don't expect anything too early!

But when it comes, I'll do my best to make it good!

Damn - too late. All I want to know is how does it drive? I trust BMW's experience with convertibles but we need confirmation about scuttle shake ( & lack of) etc.

Too late here also, but as an '03 MCS owner, I'd like to know:

1. Are the new storage spaces behind the shifter and under the toggles retrofittable?

2. Are the new door armrests retrofittable?

Keep up the great work, Paul!

Paul
great Pics, almost feels like I am there myself

Like to know:

- rear view through back and side windows
- overall impression in car, does it give a significantly smaller feel?
- interior roof only white or als other colours?

thanks
