Offline | What would you like to know from the MINI Convertible "reveal" at Geneva (March 2nd). MINI2 (in the shape of little ol' me) will be at Geneva for the unveiling of the MINI Convertible, March 2nd 2004. I'll be spending pretty much all the time there in the MINI section, as after all that's what I'm there to see. I shall of course be armed with a Digital Still and Digital Video Camera. So, I thought I'd give you all the chance to tell me anything specifically you'd like me to find out, ask, take photos or video of from the event. I will then do my best to get everything snapped, filmed, and answered in time for my return, to make it as successful and beneficial a trip to everyone as possible. Please keep this on topic and fairly "tidy" so I don't miss anything when the time comes to compile and use the list. Thanks. |

Offline | Nice idea Paul. I'd love to see as many photos as possible. 'A picture speaks a thousand words' and all that! I think we all have a pretty good idea of what the cabrio will look like from the outside, so I'd like to see some more interior pics and more info on the colour coded dash options and new seat colours etc. Also to do with the interior, will there be much less leg-room in the back? Finally, I thought I'd read somewhere that there would be more new alloy wheel designs (other than the new 5-spoke on the pics from London - great scoop by the way!), I'd really like to know more about 'em. Thanks Paul - have fun! ![]() |

Offline | Paul, If at any time during the unveiling, Chris Bangle steps up and starts yakking about how pedantric the MINI look is and what radical new ideas he has to 'chop it up and redo it', you have my permission to step behind the grassy knoll and 'terminate the subject with extreme prejudice' ![]() |

Offline | Wayne - the autoexpress article you are referring to (i think) is very misleading - the Cooper S cab will be launched with its current engine and then the whole range is having new engines in 2005 or 2006 (can't remember which) Cometh the Hour, Cometh the MINI |

Offline | Paul - green with envy. Wish I could go and see it myself. I'm on the "interest list" as my dealer is not yet taking orders because they have no idea when the USA production will start. Here are my burning questions: 1. Cabrio top - how well is it insulated and sealed? ( The VW Cabrio top is 6 layers, very sound proof and kept the interior toasty.) The Auto Express article mentions something about a sunroof like opening in the MC cabrio top - sounds odd if its true...usefulness or gimmick? How does this "opening" work? 2. Is there a cover that goes over the cabrio top when its folded down? Does color match interior or top? 3. Windscreen - backseat windscreen and foot screen under front seat? Standard with vehicle or an option. Is it well integrated into the design and how does it effect back seat passengers? 4. How do the roll bars work? Are they only on the back seat? Do those extend? What about front seat passengers? 5. Front license plate - does it sit below the chrome grill (like MCS) or does it sit on the bottom half of the grill (like MC - US model)? Thanks and turning greener day by day, fzzygttr |

Offline | Thanks folks, keep them coming, plenty of time until the launch. Some of these questions I believe I already know, but we'll keep this for official answers from the event. Thanks. Paul |
