4 months out..

.... how accurate are the delivery times going to be?

Those of you who've had mini's before how good are the dealers estimates? 4 months to go and they're saying delivery mid-late sept - so could it be early, or could it be Oct?

They got my deposit months ago so they don't need to sell me on it by giving me too optomistic date but other similarly desirable cars I've ordered have started at 9-12 month waits but then suddenly got shorter as you hit actual specification time as people drop out. Wonder what the chance of getting the car for my mates wedding 11 Sept - be cool to take him to the church in the cab....

Hi Rich - nice spec - not disimilar to http://www.mini2.com/forum/mini-convertible/58153-convertible-spec-hardtop-owner.html
I'd say if anything it'll come in early for the reason you give and also that they'd want to set an exectation and then exceed it rather than promise something and then not deliver.
Of course I might be in a position to hire one to you....

Thanks Dave now you've really got me chomping at the bit! Let's hope my better half doesn't get to read this she'll be unbearable - I'm already coming to terms with the idea that my Mini Convertible ownership is actually going to consist of driving her Ka - what's mine is hers and what's hers is hers - but if I can get the car a bit earlier then just sneak out and get it....

If the offer of the hire was serious and not just an off the cuff remark I may well be interested if mines not here by the 11/Sept would be well cool for the wedding.
