Offline | I've ordered my Cooper Convertible with the exterior chome line but I don't know what parts of the car will be covered by this option. Does anyone have pictures/thoughts? By the way here are my specs: Cooper (I expect it for the 1st week of August) - Black - Chili kit that includes (in Switzerland): --> Octagon leather/fabric black panther --> Sports steering wheel with multifunctions and speed regulator --> 5 star 16' alloy wheels --> Chrome line exterior --> Carpets --> Sports seats --> Storage kit --> Anti-fog lights --> Board computer --> Lighting kit - Chrome line interior - Rain detector - Xenon lights - Automatic air con - Radio Boost - Harman/Kardon audio - Alloy patina interior - "Visual" pack (defrosting stuff in the frond window... yeah we have cold winters here) - Wind shield - Sports chasis - ASC ... can't wait to drive it!!! |

| Damned | Well correct me if I`m wrong, but the A/C will only work efficiently if the Roof is up. If Kundelitsch came from a temperate / humid location then maybe I could understand, But as far as I recall, Switzerland is a reasonably cool non-humid Country where A/C is probably pretty low down on a wants list for a convertible. In the same circumstances I`d probably put the A/C money towards an upgrade to full leather. Does Manual A/C not come with the Chilli pack in Switzerland ?? ![]() In da Wud |

Offline | Climate control is good in the COLD as well. I have had it in several cars and it is never off winter and summer. Of course most people won't have climate on with the roof down (some do! just to get cold air on their faces) but sometimes it can be too hot for the roof down. Sometimes two hours plus exposed to the sun is too long. Sometimes smog, hostile environments and pollen preclude the roof coming down. Most convertible owners I know have the roof up more than they anticipated indeed they enjoy cold spring mornings with the heated seats on the climate on "hot" and a blast round the twisty turney stuff rather than baking on the M6/M4/M25 etc. Spend 15-20k+ and not have a/c-madness! (IMHO) yours provocatively ![]() |

Offline | Thanks all for your valuable comments The reason I took the AC is because of: - Nicer look of the interior front console (I definitely like the looks of the AC control!!!) - Very useful for our cold winter mornings in Switzerland (my car is parked outside and AC is very useful to prevent having too much humidity inside) - And I also agree that I will drive it 80% of the time with the roof up and to me AC is just going to be on all the time to filter the air at least. Just regarding the chrome line again, I've also herad that the kit may include chromed trunk fixing parts (the ones that appeared because of the convertible way to open the trunk) is anyone aware of that? Thanks! |

Offline | in the uk the boot hinges are part of a seperate pack with chromed mirrors costing £50. There have been pictures posted of these on a spy shot of a black convertible in mexico and a blue car at a motor show in germany. i think they're quite cool ![]() |
