Question interior body color vs patina/residual value

Hi
I am a foreign national living in UK. Ordered a MCS conv. delivery date mid august. Want to make sure the car will hold reasonable value in case I need to move on in couple of years. Would appreciate your feedback on specs below whether I missed crucial specs, in specific any views on whether the interior body color option will influence the res value much? (I went for Patina)

Specs:

Cool Blue
Leather Gravity dark blue
MFS
Heated Mirrors/washerjets
Visibility pack
Wind Deflector
Dark Blue Hood
Front seat Heating
Airco Auto
Radio Boost
6 disc booth changer
Chili pack

Theres certainly nothing wrong with the spec apart from Auto A/C as its really noisy however the manual A/C is just as good and you'll save yourself £200 in the process.

,but as you know there are NO guarantees with residual values.!

dinger.

PS,We had auto a/c in our Cooper S and would never have it again.

your car pics

good spec
2004 Changes to auto a/c -is it any better?
do you need the boot hogging cd changer if the cd boost plays mp3 cd's? (ie 10 cd's per cd)
the chilli pack has a easily identifiable resale value-good choice
heated seats -good choice
the cool blue interior is very nice and costs £40 i think on the MCS-resale no difference-it looks very tasteful
consider the chrono pack it moves the speedo to in front of the steering wheel-not everyone's choice
Enjoy!

Well if you have blue seats, I don't think the body colour interior would look good at all with them, because you have two different shades of blue. If you want the blue leather, I think it automatically means you don't want the body interior, unless for some reason you wanted a red or yellow dash and blue seats... not my idea of a good combo.

Personally, I think the car appealing to good taste is most important for resale when deciding on colours. You don't want someone to come see it, and go 'ugh, why did you order it that way' Beyond that, I wouldn't say its a big deal.

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

the computer code on the ordering system is dash in BODY colour-you cannot have a hyper blue car with an orange dash
i appreciate that not everone's taste is the same but i think the cool blue/cool blue interior/blue seats scheme shown above is quite tasteful-but a bit dull
i'm not sure about the blue/black combo seats though
i think the hyper blue/hyper blue interior looks dodgy not because of the seats but because of the grey door panels and unfortunately this is what i've ordered
each to their own!

I've got auto air on my MCS and would specify it again in preference to manual air, which my wife's MC has. Never had any problem with it being noisy.

I realize body colored is always going to match the outside, but I figured there was the option of getting a Yellow or Red car, so you could go for those interiors as well, depends which you like better, blue seats or blue exterior/dash.

In any event, are you sure the seats in that convertible are blue? They look very dark to me with the red stitching. In fact I've never seen blue seats with a blue dash in any of the pictures so far, probably because it seems like its just a bad idea.

the seats are blue definitely with orange stitching, dash is cool blue (this was the display car at the Uk motor show see other pictures)-I like the seats! and the interior! my point is that this combo goes well with cool blue but the grey plastic is the problem with hyper blue combinations

hmmm
Are you saying that the cd player is a mp3 player as well?

the cd player will play data cds with mp3s on them so if each album takes up 60MB or so then 10 albums will fit in 650MB. I believe the ID3 tag data will also appear on the radio display (but not the sat nav display). I am not sure if the CD player will play CDRW's as well as CDr's but at 20p a go, chucking a CDR and recording a different selection won't be too bad.

Yes, on new cars specced from the July "relaunch" then the CD player will have MP3 capability. At least, that is what my dealer and the peeps at the motorshow told me so it had better be true!!!

I would probably steer towards the Alloy Patina trim on the interior - the Body coloured trim looks good, but I can imagine there would be more takers for the Alloy Patina.

Not a great fan of Auto A/C myself, but have never found it too noisy - just when it's on LO, it's freezing, then the next notch up gets much warmer - too big a jump for my liking!

Manual A/C seems much easier to control.
