Offline | Cabrio Alarm? What sort of Alarm do they come with? Dealer told me they come with a passive one, not sure what that really means other then it doesn't make noise. They said they can install a noise one for 650 which seems kinda steep. I know a lot of people leave their top down while at a grocery store or something, does that go off if people start touching stuff inside your car? Howard |

Offline | I can confirm that the alarm on the Convertible is noisy..... as standard! When you lock it with the roof down, only the lower half of the car is motion sensored, so the alarm does go off when people try to nick your Armani sunglasses...... Hope that helps..... Jon ![]() |

Offline | I just heard from a dealer that the alarm is pre-wired for the cabrio and it is a dealer installed option. Oh well, would have been nice to have it as a standard feature. |

Offline | I'm not sure if that's correct. It's standard build on convertibles. My dealer had my car for a whole 3 hours before delivering to me, no time to install an alarm. All my options were factory fit. Paul Goodbye TinTop Red & Black, Hello Astro Black Cooper Convertible! |

Offline | My car, MOC in the UK, had the alarm factory fitted as standard, not sure about the US. I can testify its noisy enough as I leaned in to put my shades back without realising it I hadn't unlocked the car. It works well and is plenty noisy |
