| Livin' the country life | Who's ordering a Convertible in Aus?! Apart from Cityclinic and myself, who else is thinking of getting or has ordered a MCC, MCSC or a MCSCJCW? (should that be MCSJCWC?) Yes this is a vain attempt to pass the time till January, but the question still has to be asked 'is there anyone else out there?' Can't wait to get Me in a MINI. | MINI2 Regular | Guys, I'm glad someone started this thread as I just ordered my MCSC yesterday, with many more exstras than I intended, the highlight of which are heated seats for those top-down, crisp sunny Sydney winter days . It's good that I have the waiting period so I can work out how to pay for it all. It'll be easy to spot me as my girlfriend convinced me that yellow with black was the colour, I checked out some pictures, agreed it was striking and placed the order before I chickened out. Had an old mini when I was at uni and have been looking to get a new one since they were re-released. Can't wait!!! Last edited by eeney : Aug 7th, 2004 at 01:30 AM. |

| Livin' the country life | Hey eeney, Great colour choice, I was so close to going liquid yellow Looks hot with black stripes and spots. What other goodies did you opt for?I am driving my friends and family nuts "it's MINI this, MINI that", they say. At least we shall get to see them at the Motor Show in October, I have a searing idea that it will only make matters worse. Aaargh I am going nuts ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | meinamini, I must admit that choosing the colour of a car that you can't see 'in the flesh' was very difficult, we were intially going for the same colour as yourself (DS + B, great choice, very suave) or cool blue, but for some reason we looked at yellow and couldn't resist. Although I printed out pictures of all three colours and spent a whole week trying to decide and asking friends. I even called my parents (in the UK) and asked them to go check out the cabrio so I could get an honest opinion, something you can always count on with fathers. Suprisingly my parents said the orange was very nice, a "kinda bronze colour" they said. As for extras I wasn't too bad, went for the chilli pack, chrono pack, body colour dash and heated seats (for that 'wet your pants' feeling ).Am looking forward to checking it out at the motor show, and learning when to expect delivevery. Don't suppose you have more info than me on the ETA? |

| Livin' the country life | eeney, I would have to agree with you about not being able to see one. I have spent ages at my dealers just checking out different coloured coopers (s) and trying to visualise what it would look like without a roof, which is kind of difficult. But I'll tell you one thing, if it was available in pepper white I wouldn't think twice!! That colour would rock on a cabrio - black interior, stripes & lights.....sweet.As to delivery, I was initially told December but the latest I have heard is January - sometime. What did your dealer tell you? I can't wait to see it, sit in it and more importantly drive it; roll on October. The one (and only) good thing about the wait is that by the time ours are built all the nasty little problems that our English counterparts have been experiencing should have been rectified # typing with fingers crossed # |

| Livin' the country life | eeney, Was just curious as the "packs" that are available on UK/US cars haven't been offered here before. The cars are made to Australian BMW/MINI spec, then you tack on your options. I was told that the MCSC would come with what is currently in the MCS, ie MFSW cruise control etc. But then that was advanced speculation. My pricing too was indicative, they were very cagey about the hatch/convertable price difference as well (rumoured to be under 8k). We went for $7999 (more likely to be $7999.99!!) to cover bases. |

Offline | I'm moving to Sydney at the end of November from the UK. I've emailed and called a few dealers in the area about a MCC but they can only guess at about $8k above tin top prices and specs should roughly match the current cars. Delivery was estimated at being March/April time. Anyone got more concerete info as not skeen on sticking down $1k deposit from the other side of the world without knowing exact prices, specs and delivery times. Can anyone recommend a dealer? stevie |
