do what taz did & ring around dealers - he lives in newcastle but found one at prestons in colne on a 2 month lead time & one down south somewhere on 4 months or so. its a case of striking lucky & finding a dealer with a spare allocation or cancelled order. chances of getting an exact spec match are limited though

I actually want it for march 1st next year, new plate, summer almost around the corner and some time to enjoy our new cooper.

I just emailed the dealer and he wants a 1k deposit.. no chance.. not for 8mths... so im gonna try to find another one that will just take a low deposit order.

Just ordered, here is the spec (though it may change about 500 times before next march)

Mini Cooper Cabrio
Cool Blue
Leather GRAVITY Dark Blue
ASC+T
Sports Suspension
Interior trim body colour
Dark Blue Hood
Cockpit Chrono Package
Single CD Player
Radio Boost
Harmon Kardon - Hi-Fi
Chilli Pack
MFSW
TLC

Dealer says I wont loose too much on my car, its only 2mths old, nuts.

Nice spec. I take it they were going to pay you interest on £1000 deposit.

cheers.. i know, 8mths, I still have to stump up 500 quid though - like they wouldnt be able to sell the build slot or even the car.

Wife wants red now.. and so it starts.

I think in the end I really got on our dealers nerves as I kept changing the spec of our Cabrio before we got it still they get good commission for order taking dont they.
