I have a knocking sound coming from the rear panel behind the near side window as if something is loose in the roof and ideas what that could be?????

. Ive got the same noise. I havnt a clue what it is. Got to contact my dealer once I have got round to writing a list of problems with the car. I havnt even told the dealer about the problems yet. Been too busy enjoying the driving

. Mainly the various rattles. Didnt really bother me at first, just put the music up

Unfortunately, the rattles are getting worse and abit annoying now and more noticable

Mine had that (and other rattles). dealer fixed by reseating the panel and just tightning it in place.

My Mini went in on Monday for the dealer to look at it....... they tell me that the window/roof track needs replacing!!!

We will see if they fix it

I know this may sound a bit obvious but a few times I have had knocking from the rear of the car and thought it was the roof.
On closer investigation I have found that the rear seat belt buckles ahve been tapping against the side panels and needed to be moved out of the way. I sometimes gat this from the front passenger seat belt when it is not in use. Might be worth fastening them to see if this fixes your problem.

No, I have my seatbelts buckled when theres no passengers at the back. Still get that sound.
