I had my dealer wait until after the new year for my build in order to ensure I could get the limited slip differential and the arm rest which was supposed to be included with the premium package starting in January. Today I got my factory production number and was told, sorry, the arm rest will not be included until April earliest.

How can this be when you can buy the darn things over the parts counter!

If this is a US spec car, I think the armrest is delayed due to a bureaucratic snafu with the DOT. They only way we can get them is to order them from Europe. The US dealers cannot or will not sell them. Similar to the issue with the rear fog light that was finally cleared up (no pun intended) when CA finally said yes to it. I believe the only state that still prohibits it is OR.

MINI has redesigned the armrest and it won't be available until February or after. Motoring file has a picture of the new one.

I've got a delivery date of 14 February and quickly decided it just wasn't worth the wait. If they had pushed back the limited slip also, then maybe but I can get the arm rest from the dealer here. Did notice that my total came up $50 less than we had figured. I'm somehow sure that buying it over the counter will cost considerably more than that. I'll try it out for a while and see if I can live without it first.

Just saw a picture of the new tail light lenses, glad I didn't shell out the money for them.
