Is it possible to tint the windows and rear glass for the convertible ?

Tints in front of the 'B' pillar are just about all illegal now in the UK. However, many people still have them done.......

They will in some parts of the country if you have you front side windiws tinted - however, if you keep the tints reaosnable (not too dark) they might leave you alone.

Many tinting places refuse to do fronts now though...

post pictures if you have it done....

Pentagon are the best tinting company to use, but as Tony said, it is illegal to tint front sides, and the police can make you remove them there and then

Another thing to consider, is while there is still the issue with rear screens shattering, should you really do anything to the glass on the Convertible? Would a dealer say that your warranty is void on a window if its been tinted by an after market company?

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

Rakey - I had that same thought. But on the other side of the coin, it might help keep the glass together

I have'nt tinted the windows on my MCSC yet, I m still trying to decide what to do as I think it will look better with the roof up, but when the roof is down at speed I quire often leave the windows up which is fine as it does not spoil the look/line of the car. I think if I have them tinted it might look worse with the windows tinted.
The other guys are correct in that it isnow illegal to have the fronts tinted, but if you live where I live ever "school run" 4 x4 has tint's. It is a little like white rear lights, "adjusted" personal plates, you just have to be unlucky and get a copper on an of day.
Best bet is have the fronts in the lightest tint and the backs darker if you want, however all us conv drivers know the rear vision out the back ain't that great as it is so if you go to dark trust the sensors !!

i dont think that the tints would show up very much with the roof down, that was my worry too, but imagine how much light is inside the car, im sure tinting film isnt directional so witht the roof down, more light inside the car means that the tints will be less visable, which is a plus for me.

I also thought about that, I also thought about the security film that can be applied, but any modification would then invalidate the warranty so don't think I will be doing anything to the windows in mine as I don't fancy being stuck with a £1600 parts then labour on top bill
