Mini automatically booked my car in for 2 days..now 5!

Called Mini during the week to book my car in to have a couple of rattles looked at and to see if they could spot the intermittant fault with the roof mechanism - you know, the one where the roof doesn't go up sometimes when the windows have dropped, or not all the windows return to closed once its gone up.

Well, was quite surprised - booked me in for a drive with one of their technicians to see if they could locate the rattle AND automatically booked the car in the workshop for 2 days, providing me with a courtesy car. Almost sound like they know they're going to have to do a lot - anyone else found this?

Yeah I had a similar story when I booked my car in because my boot lid didn't shut flush & the alarm kept going off randomly. They booked it in for two days & gave me a courtesy car. They had it in for three days in the end but I still wasn't expecting it!

Yep, our car was also booked in for 2 days.. which incidently... when it came back, still rattled (roof) ... this was the final straw and so the dreaded letter of complaint was posted to BMW... hence new car arriving 1st March!!! (BEP this time.. maybe a change of colour will give us more luck?!) and we've nearly hit the 7K mile mark! woo hoo 'free' motoring!

Just got back from test drive

Well, was all ready for a fight. Just been to have a drive of my car with one of the technicians prior to it going in for 2 days next week. Got to say was mightly impressed with their attitude - a quick drive round the block and it was...

"Right - dash needs to come out and be lubed and fixed properly
New roof required - I have got wear marks not just 'compression' ones

We'll book the car in for a week sir.."

OK, pee'd off it needs doing in the first place but when they react as well as that it makes it easier to swallow, so full marks to Wood Mini Servicing in Hook (so far )

Interestingly the technician was saying that they really aren't impressed at the quality of the mini builds they're seeing at the moment, totally blocking up their service centre with warranty work
