It's nothing to be worried about, but it would be nice to have. It's a way of transferring power to wheels that have traction.

I agree - don't worry. Literally hundreds of thousands of MINI's have been built without the limited slip. While it's a nice feature, it certainly shouldn't be a "deal breaker".

My 05 convertible was built late November. I've put about 1,300 miles on it and haven't missed the LSD one bit. If you must have it, you can do an after-market unit (although it is pricey.)

thanks for the reasurance on this ive since learnt a bit more about slip diff and have come to excatly the same conclusion, cant wait now......
