England A Mini Without the Wait

I went in to my local Mini dealers on Sunday and there she was..........

A convertible S in hyper blue, after a bit of "uming and arring" i bought it, it arrives on Friday!!!!!. I cant wait.

As this is my first Mini I am new to the forums so, "hello"

The problem i have is she needs a good name, any suggestions.

Congrats and welcome , you'll spend way too much time here, but that's something you'll
just have to accept. If you haven't explored this site, you'll be amazed at the amount of useful info is here and a colorful army of friendly folk from all over the globe to help you out . And yes everybody wants specs and pics, so get busy, if you can get out from behind the wheel !!

How can you be in two places at once, when you're not anywhere at all ?

Pics etc at the w/end. One thing I did not purchase is a wind deflector. How effective are they and are they worth having?

I can't wait!!!!!

Dont think we could live without one. The wind deflector keeps "most" of the wind out when travelling at high speeds with the roof down.
Downside is the cost. £160 for a bit of plastic However, is very useful
and you cant use the wind deflector when you have people in the back.
One option I have no regrets about(don't have any regrets about any of the options-Just wish the money was there to add more options at the time we speced our MCC)

A big welcome from Luxembourg!

Maybe you should call him/her TGIF, as you are collecting on Friday?

I definitley endorse Roster's advice on the wind deflector, especially as I think they cost more if you buy them later?

Looking forwards to seeing your first photos....

Woohoo - same as me then! I am picking up my MCSC on Friday at 10am and I can't wait! OK, baux, let's have a race to see who can get pics on here first!

I too umm'ed and ahhh'ed about getting a wind deflector too but after reading what everyone on the forum has said, I eventually decided to get one (picking that up with my car on Friday! )

Congrats to Baux and HersheyKiss for their recent additions to the family. Friday will hopefully be a joyous occasion! As for names go, I have been trying to come up with a name since Dec. for my MINI and had no luck so far. Right now it is just called "Da MINI". I guess that will have to do for now.

Awwwww thanks Goatherder! *Hug*

It's actually going to be an exciting couple of days as my other half gets his new car tomorrow - but his isn't as cute or cool as mine, which is what counts at the end of the day!

I'm new to mini2 too.

I have to say congrats on getting your car.

dont give it a name, everyone did that with the classic mini ( i had JC !), just enjoy the car -

my wife and i call ours : "the yellow one" for the cooper and "the orange one" for the soft top, that way she doesnt think i'm having an affair!

keep smiling and keep waving to every mini that goes by (thats something that the classic mini drivers still do), new mini drivers are sometimes a bit too reserved!

good luck
trev

welcome to MINI2, the name will come when you drive him/her on Friday, it will just pop in your head

deflector can be purchased later if you want, but I couldn't do without, as it stops your neck from getting cold

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?
