| MINI2 Regular | Worried ?????? Finally got my MCSC booked in at the dealers service shop to have the rear mesh stickers replaced on my aero kit (bubbled after 2 weeks), it had taken them 7 weeks to get the replacments. They are also fitting the centre support bracket to the rear bumper which was missed upon fitting the kit, they are repairing the rear pasenger wheel arch which they broke fitting the aero kit but did not bother telling me, also other little bits. They have told me they can only have the car in the week and not weekends, my dilema is I can not take any time off work at present to take the car in, so the dealer will be collecting it from work place next week. I am worried they will thrash it, scuff my interior and other things I am careful about. I don't even let my girlfriend drive it yet (she has her own car anyway) and I am so careful when getting in & out. Has anyone else had this same situation and how did the dealers treat your car, any tips to look out for. Sorry for sounding paranoid but it worries me when someone else drives my MINI cheers nickw |

Offline | I did some modding and had to remove the door panel for the first time myself, I noticed that one screw was dull when putting the panels back on. It must have happened at the dealers when they replaced the glass run rubbers just behind the panels because they were sqeeking. And I suddenly have a little dent in my aluminum Cooper S door sills, and a small dent on the hood near the washers. I'm sure I didn't do this myself so I guess the dealer dropped a tool here and there on my Mini! But I can't prove it. EB/W R53 MCS Highly Modified |

Offline | I absolutely share your concerns. I always try to take my car to the dealers myself. Many many years ago, I worked for a car rental company delivering all sorts of new cars all over the country. We thrashed the living daylights out of them, on cold engines with less that 200 miles on them. Sorry but it does happen. Rainbow Dreamer 2005 Cooper S Convertible |

Offline | Had mine picked up by a truck to take to the dealers. Even drove it on to the truck myself. Then the driver went over the car with me noting the condition of the car before it went into his care. |

Offline | It is a car... it will dent eventually. Check it out before you give it to them and do that when you get it back. If they rev it at 6500 rpm on a cold engine - you'll never know. But then again, it IS only a car... If you think everything is under control You are going too slow |

| MINI2 Regular | Correct it is only a car and i appreciate that it could get dented. However when you have saved hard and spent most of your savings on your dream car, you come alittle protective over it, hence my concerns. I will obviously check it upon collection and delivery thanks |

Offline | Sorry, did not mean to stress you. Good and obvious rule is to assess the driver's age and attitude when they pick up your car. If they are middle aged, then they will probably won't thrash it and drive it carefully, but if they are under 30, then there is a high chance it may be given a 'work out.' ![]() Rainbow Dreamer 2005 Cooper S Convertible |

Offline | Of course I understand your concerns. But sometimes man suffers most from the things he fears and may never happen (translation of Dutch saying ). You can do all you want but not everything is in your power. Or you have to take the car yourself and stay with it at the dealers. Because that is not possible, do what you can and forget what COULD happen. That was what I ment, not that you should not worry about the car you saved hard for...If you think everything is under control You are going too slow |
