I only ask because when my MOC went into my dealer last week to get them to take a look and to see about a replacement hood. They said there was no new fix, just the standard one that mine was built with (Jan 05).

Im just after a definate yes or no to whether there has been a change, and if so there is going to be a strongly worded letter to BMW UK as I don't appreciate been lied to.

Whats made it especially bad is that today I went for a spirted drive with the roof down and its started to frey above the rear windows. My wear hasn't been too bad until today!!

As far as I can tell there is a new roof. I am taking my US spec in tomorrow (in Germany) to have a new roof put on. When I was at the dealer last week I saw an official looking print out of a document that described common roof wear problems (with diagrams, etc.). It appeared to be a MINI/BMW message/document. I got the impression that MINI has acknowledged the issue and has issued guidance/information roof wear. There was no hassle. The man at the dealer inspected the roof, contacted his headquarters in Munich and notified me the next day that they would install a new roof. We'll see if the new roof solves the rubbing problem...
