Here is a quick question, the way the posts are going. Does any one think there will be a car with its original roof left by the end of summer???????

But more importantly, is word really going to get around that convertibles are a pain to own and it starts effecting its value

PS I do love to drive the car and with the roof down it's really great. But I'm sure that most of us can only stand going to the dealers so many times. After all said and done we are paying premium money for what should a a premium product.

I agree with you, I thought I had got away with it (jan05 build) until a small slit appeared above my rear window. My dealer has agreed to replace it a fault in the material and my car is only 11 weeks old. However roof is on a 6 week leadtime. We all have paid a premium for this car and like you I dont need the hastle. I am currently trying to reject the car and ask for a full refund.

After reading about all the problems with the hood, I called my dealer yesterday to see if my new car (being built as I write this!) will have the "wear" problem?

They new all about the issue straight away, but, assured me that my car will now have the revised hood, as its a April 05 build.

I do not think the hood issue will cause the price to drop, as there is still a waiting list, and the cars are still sort after.

Watch this space....................

well lets just hope when I have my new roof fitted on the 9th of May, it doesn't rattle. I wonder if BMW knows how lucky it is that we all have so much good will towards it.
