Offline | CD Changer Pre-wiring location? I tried searching through the forums for an answer to this, so excuse me if I missed it. I'm trying to find the prewiring for the CD Changer in the boot so I can hook up my new Ice Link Plus. I tried unscrewing the one screw on the right side of the trunk, but didn't feel any wires hanging out behind there. In general, while I can find reference to the location in a regular mini, I don't see any info for the convertible.... Thanks. |

Offline | If you check behind the panel at the top right behind the rear seat you will find a bunch of wires taped together. Within that bunch are the 2 connectors you are looking for. I have a February build 2005 convertible and that is where I found them. |

Offline | Hi, I've looked inside both of the rear panels, i guess that they are the carpety removable bits, and I can't find the cables for the changer. Could it be one of those things that altough free needed to be added to the order by the dealer ? On the upside I did find a accessory socket in the boot that I didn't know about ![]() Paul; |

Offline | If you remove the right-hand side carpety panel just behind the back of the rear seat - near the screw, you should see the setbelt retracter. There is a bunch of wires just underneath it wrapped by some paper tape (white in my case). The connecters are rapped inside it. The connecters are smaller than the little finger. You need to break the tape to get to them. Hope that this helps. Lang ![]() |

Offline | Please post a photo! Looked for 2 hours!!! I looked for the cd prep for about 2 hours (if not longer) tonight (the 1st night with my new MCSC) but wasn't able to find them at all. Removed all of the carpet from the boot on the passenger side but no luck and they weren't wrapped in tape under the seat belt retractor or in the access panel at the top. Needless to say, I'm very frustrated as this was such an easy task with my 2002 MCS. If anyone could post a photo, showing exactly where they found the CD prep it would be very greatly appreciated. Also if you happened to find the CD prep in a location other than the two mentioned above, could you please indicate that. Many thanks, Jakearama. ![]() '05 All Black MCS Convertible |

Offline | if your just trying to fit an Ice link you won't need to find the connection in the boot, you just un-hook the connector on the Head Unit and the ice link replaces it there ![]() As for everyone else hunting, if some does find its location in the boot, please post a photo for everyone else ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | Hi, The only way to get at the CD changer cable is to remove the whole piece of carpet from the side of the boot of the car. You can't get to it by removing the carpet flap in the back corner of the boot. Once you have removed the carpet you will find the cable near to the rear seatbelt holder. You can't find the cable by having a fish arround behind the carpet as it is too far up. Hope this helps Paul; |

Offline | Is the CD prep there with the HK system? Ok, here's my new question. I did remove all of the carpeting from the back of the convertible on the passenger side and did not find any CD prep (either by the seat belt retractor or anywhere else). Thus, my question is that I have the HK sound system so does this CD Prep even exist with the HK system and, if so, can anyone at all confirm they have found the CD prep in an HK equipped car and confirm the location. I would love to see a pic of the connector as well. Someone mentioned it was taped up in a wire bundle by the seat belt retractor but I felt the wires in this bundle and there's no way that those two connectors would fit within that wire bundle (it simply wasn't thick enough). Please post a photo...anyone?? Jakearama. ![]() '05 All Black MCS Convertible |

Offline | The carpet liner on the sides has a half to one inch lip that drops behind the floor panel. I dropped the seats down and lifted it while sitting on the seat back. The only pic I have are of the install of my ice link up front. none of the harness |

| MINI2 Master | Is the screw holding the right-side boot panelling supposed to undo? Is there some trick? I turn it to the left and keep turning and turning and it never seems to loosen. I have an 05/05 build MC Convertible with HK stereo. Will there be any pre-wiring in there anyways? I want to use my Blitzsafe AUX adapter with it but I'm beginning to wonder if I shouldn't just spend a few bucks and get the proper MINI AUX adapter instead. Offline | It is not a screw but an anchor. What looks like a screw head pushes into the anchor and expans the butterfly part. To get it out us a flat head or your fingernail to push it out while turning it. |

| MINI2 Master | Thanks, that helped me get the carpet panel off but like Jakearama, I don't see any CD Changer wires there, just thick wires that seems to be attached to the taillight cluster as the same colours are attached where the bulb change 'hatch' is located. So it looks like I'm out of luck with my Blitzsafe and will have to get a proper AUX connector. Thanks for the help though!
