smashed rear screen makes auto express

Anyone else seen this in the watchdog section of AE this week iirc. A MCSC owner 'Lou' (anyone from here??) has had her rear screen smashed and discovered the £1500 replacement cost for the whole new roof etc. This has prompted autoexpress to examine the cost of replacement rear screens (Or whole hoods) for other convertibles. What was interesting as this could be another case of the self shattering rear screen and the owner wrongly assumed vandalism. what was even more interesting is that BMW paid the repair cost as a 'goodwill gesture'. Seems that BMW are blatantly aware of the problem but understandably didnt want it publicised!

Any views?

bet that is press that BMW didn't want, but doubt they are a MINI2 user or they would have known about the rear shattering windscreens.

Its only a forum you know!
