Squeaky roof when in sunroof mode!

Only noticeable when the roof is in the sunroof position and the windows are down, terrible squeaking from just above drivers head.

Anyone else have this? Will be pushing to get roof replaced due to white marks around first service time so it may not be a problem afterwards.

cheers
Paul

I thought I was the only one that has that problem.

My squeek is on the passenger side though. Does it drive you crazy too???

What are you having done to fix the problem? I'll be going in for first service in 4000 miles, and I'm making a list of things that need to be fixed.

Have you had problems with your rear speakers?

Same here, mine's on the passenger side and has been driving me nuts and totally disappears when the roof is closed. Glad to know I'm not the only one. Will drop a note to my dealer today and will let you know what I hear back.

Cheers

Called my dealer and he confirmed the squeek is a known problem and that they have a fix. It's booked in to be fixed next Wednesday. I'll see if I can find out what the problem is and the fix and will report back.

Cheers

I have the rear speakers (HK system) in subwoofer mode...the rear panels rattle with high bass, i find I really have to turn the bass down to avoid the problem, but I like bass...not sure if there's a fix...Hard to hear while driving, but when parked, it's very noticable.

The car went in yesterday for the squeak and by all I can tell it's fixed. I was dealing with the salesman I bought the car from and he wasn't too clear as to the root cause of the issue but as previously mentioned he knew about the fault and that there was a fix. When I picked it up I asked what the cause was and the solution. He said that he thought it was a lubrication matter and that it was a quick fiex. That's scary - if it's a "WD-40" job then it's bound to return.

I've asked for more details and he has committed to get back to me. Given that it is a known problem I've also requested details of the MINI maintenance bulletin reference so as to hopefully help you all out in pursuing this with your dealer.

Will keep you posted

Cheers

mine now has the sunroof squeek, but only since the fabric was replaced

also now have the rear window rattle since they were replaced

Oh and the new fabric is also marking still, so there is no real fix out there

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

Mine is the same. Ever since they put the new canvas on I have way more rattles also the sunroof squeaks when it didn't do so before.
Roof wear has restarted also!
