Unhappy Electric roof 'sticks' on comfort option ?

Does anybody else have the same problem as me ? sometimes when I open the roof using the 'comfort' remote key option the following happens:
The sunroof and windows open as normal;
the roof unhinges;
and then nothing !!
a red right flashes on the 'roof' button, and I cannot open / close the roof no matter what method I use (Key / Roof button / Central lock tag). The car cannot be driven as the roof is nether open or closed, just unhinged. I have checked the parcel shelf to ensure the sensor in the boot are not affected.
Then after several minutes the roof operates as normal ??
This has happened around six or seven times, any advice (the comfort option is very erratic and sometimes decides not to work at all.

This has happened to me several times. I don't know why it happens - the button is still fully depressed but yet the roof stops going down. I think once the sunroof opens you have to let the button go and press it again, but still it fails to work. Anyone got advice on this matter?

I have this problem. But I think it has to do with the car and the key losing their connection. Once it loses it you can't restart it. You have to get in the car and use the regular button.

UPDATE : No I have placed the key in the ignition, started the car, and still the roof will not open or close, it just stays 'unhinged'. When I leave it for several minutes it springs back into action, I can then drive topless ?!?

Micro Switches

Have your dealer check and replace the micro switches that sense the rear package tray. There have been others who have had similar problems with malfunctioning switches causing the roof to falsely sense that the package tray is out of position. It could also be loose wiring between the switch and the wiring harness somewhere.

Good luck,

Steve

As mebtioned before the comfort mode usually tends not to work - but if i use the button inside the car, then the roof always opens. Go to your dealer ASAP and see if they can rectify the problem

I thought it was just my MINI behaving badly!

Sometimes she doesn't cooperate, and I must really coax the roof down using the key. I don't have a problem with the sunroof portion, but opening the roof doesn't always work the first time, so I'll press the alarm/lock and start again and the roof will open.

I've never had a problem with it using the button inside the car.
