Bye Bye MINI

Well after 18months of MINI ownership... in total 3 MINI's ...it was time to say farewell to our second convertible last week. Off she went on a transporter... a BMW garage bought her off us and they collected her last Thursday. Incidentally they are selling her for more than what we bought her for brand new! (hhhmmmmm!)... she is now nearly 3 months old.

So tatty-bye you lot! nice chatting.... picking up my 2.8 Z3 this Thursday ... can't wait!!

hunkey d.

had to get a used Z3 as obviously can't get a new one!

plus we're getting married next year so needed the money!
and to be honest, after 2 MINI convertibles in less than a year, we are sick of them... rattle rattle, squeek, etc etc... atleast if anything happens with the new car it can be forgiven as it's older.

And we like the Z3 (and other cars) more than the MINI now (MINI's are a touch on the common/popular side here in the UK and it's getting a little boring when every corner you turn OH! there's another MINI... granted they are all different but god they're common!!... no offense as we've had 3 ourselves!) and the new car is a 2.8 rather than a sluggish 1.6 (ONE).... much livelier!!

any how, each to their own!

happy MINI motoring you lot! x

We changed from a Z3 (but only the 1.9) to the Mini.
It really is good and you'll enjoy it. We're really happy with the Mini......................
but it's not a two seat sportscar!
There's a good site for the Z3 too
http://www.zroadster.net/forum/

The Mini is our "sensible" car now as I sold my saloon car for a Honda S2000

Here in Los Angeles, BMW's are a dime a dozen. I have yet to see a MINI Cooper S Convertible with JCW. In fact, I haven't seen any.

Doooode, move on then. Why are you still in the forum? This is a positive place for MINI owners and if you're not satisfied and/or cannot afford a MINI then do us all a favor and move on.

England Hmmm!

Our Cabrio will be a year old soon! As she is the second (although gorgeous) car in our family, I'm trying to persuade the better half to trade her in.
Too be totally honest, before I drove a "new mini" I was not at all interested but I was talked into it and have too say have never regreted for one minute buying her.
She has only clocked up 4k and has the latest roof (fitted a couple of weeks ago) but with two boy's aged 3 & 7 is not the most practicle second car.

I'm sure a tear or two will be shead when we finally part company but I will definatley return to Mini ownership, maybee as a third car if we can afford it.

Question: She is a MOC Chilli Red, Pepper Pack, Chrome & Spots etc. Anthracite Dash etc. Sport Seats & cost £14,800 (looks identicle to Cooper except mirror caps black)
What is she worth? (there is no outstanding finance, we bought her outright)

The same person who is making fun of my name, or my intellect I suppose, needs to learn that "atleast" uh, is two words - but then pointing that out would be going to her level And if you honestly think her second post was not "thumbing her nose" at MINI owners than we agree to disagree.

What I can't figure out is why someone would be hanging around a MINI enthusiasts forum when 1) they don't even own a MINI and 2) they seem to not even like the MINI? Read the post:

Admittedly she says: "no offense" with some guilty feeling that she is offending someone and finally, "any how, each to their own!" Why thank you ma'am, well you're point is well taken. So I stand by my post.

God look.. this person obviously loved thier MINIs just had some bad experieneces!!

I say... enjoy your Z3.....and one day you might come back to the MINI world.

There are lots of NON MINI owners on this site..... why should they be excluded???

You are very narrow minded.... and if they were aimed at me i would find them hurtful!

Oh at btw.. you are just as bad as the media drawing "snippets" from their comments and trying to make them into stand-a-lone sentences....

Thsi website not only welcome owners but enthusiasts...so......CHIN UP!

hunkey d. was perfectly entitled to say what he did. After all he had two MINI convertibles in less than a year so is probably better qualified than most!

And let's face it, all MINIs rattle and squeak.

Thanks!!! Good eye on identifying the avatar! FoS are one of my all-time favorites and I just happened to catch the reply on Sunday of that program. Some friends at work were talking about it and I was kicking myself for missing it. Well, I caught it! I have seen them on other, previous, retro shows and I think it's great for them to keep coming back to play. Would like a reunion tour, but who knows.

Thanking you!

i will still pop in here every so often (as there's nothing better than skiving off work if there??!!)

I didn't mean to start an 'argument'... was only saying good bye.
and yes we loved our mini (tin top) she was perfect... our second convertible was much better then the first but we figured we'd sell her as she was a replacement for a 10month old car, so we hardly lost any money on her at all.

Picked up the Z3 of Thursday and i'm in lurve!... what a great car!!!

will pop in again every so often (as i still love the MINI)

TTFN!
