Offline | Autocar's rattling convertible. In this weeks Autocar magazine, a long term test report on the MINI Cooper convertible. They mention rattles and squeaks detracting from the driving experience. I suppose a rattling MINI is now a characteristic of the car. Parked behind a 54 plate MINI convertible this afternoon in black with chrome boot hinges. Looked quite nice as well. Couldn't understand why the driver had his foot on the brake all the time, as the brake lights were constantly on. When I got out of my car I noticed there was nobody in the convertible, but the brake lights were shining brightly. ![]() Rainbow Dreamer 2005 Cooper S Convertible |

| kltpzyxm | weird about the brake lights. I've noticed a strange sound coming from my top while its moving during the sunroof mode. Its a sort of clicking/ticking noise. It only happens while the sunroof is opening or closing, it sounds normal during the rest of the movement. It rattles slightly with the top up as well, but since i never (knock on wood) have the top up, and i've always got my music turned up two notches too high, who cares ![]() |

Offline | I've had that happen to me once - parked up on a private road, got out of the car and the brake lights were on. Got back in, put the key in, foot on the brakes and they went out. I can only presume that the computer got it's knickers in a twist at some point! Have not managed to replicate it. |
