Offline | Automatic box for Cooper diesel? Hi I'm about to place an order for an R56 MC auto, but the likelihood of a Cooper diesel variant is tempting me to be patient for a bit longer. Anybody know, or care to guess, the chances of there being an auto option available on the MC diesel? There ought to be enough oomph (110bhp?) to work with an auto, so I presume it's theoretically feasible. Maybe too soon to know, but I'd appreciate any light that anyone can shed. Cheers Saxford |

Offline | Hey Minifritz, thanks for the info. Hopefully it will be the same 6-speed auto box as is now being used on the Cooper. Maybe I can keep my MINI-lust under control until the summer! |

Offline | I think that's great that there will be an automatic Cooper Diesel. I drove a Rental Toyota Rav4 manual Diesel and did not like the 1st to 2nd transition. I would bet the manual transmission would be smoother in the MINI. Now there is the option for having an Automatic transmission, nice! Still wanting a convertible though... anyway, enough thinking out loud :-) |

Offline | Update - dealer feedback Hi there Quizzed my local dealer as to the likely UK availability of an auto option on the MCD. They made some calls and confirmed that this would "not be available in the UK until early 2008". Ah well, presuming that's true, don't think I can delay my mini desires that long, so now trying to finalise my spec for a new MCA - probably place an order in next few days .BTW, guess this thread should now really be under the new MCD section. Cheers |

Offline | Unfortunately it's in the next tax bracket up, no? Also won't be London Congestion Charge exempt, if so - shame, because the killer app would have been London. Does the Auto have the stop/start feature, I wonder? Doubt it... probably why the CO2 figure's so much higher. 2008 MINI Cooper D (c. 1/9/2007 Delivery) 2005/6 BMW-Alpina B5 Touring 2005 Nissan Armada LE 4x4 & 2004 Subaru Forester 2.0XT |
