![]() MINI2 Master | As the Cooper D is now on the configurator on MINI - HOME, Thought would start a thread up here with possible Speccing options available. The Diesel variant has never been as popular in the past with buyers, but I think MINI have played their cards right in coming up with a higher performanced Diesel here. So maybe the Diesel could come up trumps and almost be as popular as her sister petrol variant this time around. What options would you consider for the D, Colours available and wheel combinations. reasons for choosing the D, more than likely annual mileage per year-but other reasons please discuss ![]() |

![]() Dooper is the dogz! | Top idea, Si! My reasons for choosing the Cooper D, over the regular Cooper is the fuel economy and the cheaper road tax - 50 quid, bring it on!! Current Cooper is costing me and arm in the leg in petrol, and the S bashing torque of the CD is appealing! As for spec...pretty much same as current car, plus xenons and an aero kit So... Pepper White/Black CD Preparation Remote Control Alarm Car Jack Pass Airbag Deactivation Pepper White Roof&Mirror Caps In Black Black Bonnet Stripes Colour Line Dark Grey Additional Decor Rings Interior Trim Piano Black Exterior Mirror Pack Heated Mirrors/Washerjets White Indicator Lenses Auto-Dim Interior Mirror Multifunction for S/Wheel Bi-Xenon Headlights Visibility Pack Rain Sensor & Lights On CHILI Pack 17" Flame Spoke Alloys (may stick with std wheels, and then upgrade to 18inch KEI Racing Force 10s, or some other big black'uns!) Clth/Lea Ray Cream White Sports Seats Interior Light Pack On-Board Computer Automatic Air Conditioning Front Foglights Pass. Seat Height Adj. Floor Mats Chrome-Line Exterior Rear Roof Spolier Aero kit Am gonna head down to a garage at some point when I have chance and get them to spec it up properly, and also a normal Cooper to compare the two, so will spec in some more detail then!! ![]() |

Offline | Yup, ordered it on launch day and took the showroom model to avoid a 5 month wait. It cost me £15,500 and is a nice spec, and has been virtually faultless for 41000 miles. I'm on my third fan belt tensioner (all at BMW's expense) and had both my headlamp motors fail at the same time, again fixed under warranty. At the time, I recall that the only extras pack was the 'Salt', which was a whole different price bracket from today's 'Chili' pack. I have been caught by Mrs H filling in a spreadsheet in the wee small hours, so surely it can't come a such a surprise can it? So, at present I'm looking at... A new/newish colour; Sparkling Silver / Nightfire Red / Mellow Yellow (to save a few quid) Chili Colourline (probably red) Piano Black Heated Mirrors White indicators PDC MFSW Xenons All of which tops out at £17375 of my hard earned. |

Offline | Interesting; given the purchase price & mpg differences btwn the Cooper & CD, I want to work out the annual mileage needed to be better off ... Undestand it involves RSP (std car + Chilli pack say), insurace, VED, avg mpg figures, fuel costs, depreciation etc ... CAN ANYONE HELP me out ? May have to wait for What Car's ppm / Cost of Ownership calculation but that'll be a while off yet |

Offline | Well, I reckoned it was going to be more than 19,000 miles (I do about 17,000 p.a. now) - I couldn't get it to work, even closely, for me at these sort of mileages. And I wasn't speccing highly either (unlike Rakey's above, which definitely need all that diesel torque to shift all that kit!) ![]() |
