Hi ,

Just going through the process of coming up with the Spec for my first ever Mini - Specifically the Mini Cooper D.(hence my first post!). Hoping to go and order either Sunday or Next weekend.

Just wanted to get your thoughts on the "Sport Button" and whether its worth having?

Also given that Im surrounded several towns and cities with Mini Dealers is there likely to be any difference in whats on offer ? (2 of the dealerships are the same but the others are independent)

Yes, shop around and even play them off each other if you can. If you can save money and get a good deal (either on the purchase price or finance (if you go that route), it's got to be worth it!

Also, I think the sport button is well worth it for the steering alone.

Does the Sport button also up the torque by 20nM on the CooperD, I read somewhere about 260nM being available on overboost somewhere?

No the sport button only changes the steering and throttle response

The Cooper D, like the Cooper S, does have the overboost function, giving an extra 20Nm of torque, but it isn't something that is switched on and off with a button.

Oh right, thanks for explaining that! I think I remember reading a debate about this on the S forum some time ago!
