Nah, decided against xenon's in the end

Am feeling slightly nervous now as the MINI shortfall cheque has not yet arrived, and sorted insurance today, but they need to post the cover note to the garage....

*crosses fingers everything will arrive in time for Sat*

Car there. Aero kit should have been fitted today. Still waiting on the insurance...

And wheels, 17 KEI Racing Force 10s in hyper black ordered - should arrive on Tues/Wed and then will have them fitted on Thurs/Fri, so will have to drive around looking stoopid for a few days!?

I think you ought Ollie.

I also think you'll find it performs a bit better than your PW Cooper Ollie!

And it's here!! :-D

Went over and collected Dooper from Harrogate this afternoon, and it looks awesome (even with the piddly little 16 inch Blaster alloys on it!) Drives brilliantly too - took a slight detour home, via Leeds and the M62 and the pull is immense - even in 6th there is still the urge to go faster, and this is with only 0.7 miles on the clock when I collected it

Is it so good to be back behind the MINI wheel again

Here are some pics, and will post some more when I have done a bit more driving, but first impressions of it are BRILL!!!! #

Service from Adam Pringle at Stratstone Harrogate was also really good - kept me well in the loop with regular phone calls to update me on progress, and they delivered the car ahead of schedule to me (only hitch is that they have fitted the wrong number plates , but can sort that tomorrow - I only realised when I got home, and was checking all the paperwork!!)

Your co-ordination is terrible Ben - you should have worn white shorts.

The car is very nice though. Brill is indeed a perfect description.

Psst. Don't foget to update your profile.

Have been reading the handbook this morning, and then spent the last hour or so sat in the car, on the drive, trying to fathom all the settings out: you can set each key to different settings. For example, whether both, or only drivers door unlocks with plipper, how long the lights stay on in ;get you to the front door' mode, whether the indicators flash, or not when you lock and unlock the car. All very exciting!!!

My fave surprise and delight feature, so far, as am sure there will be more surprises as I get to know the car, is the hidden compartment in the dashboard, above the normal glovebox - very ingenious! I like it mucho!!

As for driving it, the torque is immense - I am driving way faster than I should be, and have to concentrate to keep the speed down! Steering isn't as different as I thought it was going to be, and from what I remember fromt he test drives, to my old R53 - unless the CD has a different set up?

One of the neighbours who had a PW/B One D has been round to check it out too; and she is tempted to get a Cooper D now, having seen mine!!

All good!

I just wanna drive - LOTS!!! hehe
