I went to get myself organised to take delivery of my Dooper end of September today at my dealer and to my surprise check out what I found

Cant wait now trying to get everything ready for early September now

Why can you not take delivery until September?

I am happy to wait till then away on holiday next week and it will probably take forever for the DVLA to transfer my cherished plate if passed experience is to go by

hi ajamesj, I was just looking in to getting a plate, not having any experience of this before what is it that takes the DVLA the time. Is it because yours is on another car or is it just in general?If I purchase one off their site how quickly (or slowly) am I likely to get it?( i appreciate you can only generalise)

I reckon my MCS is about 10-14 days away, is that enough time to purchase a plate off DVLA and get it on the car. i'm hoping that you are going to say because it's a new buy and not a transfer that it will be really quick

usually within 10-14 days its supposed to be ready but I am always unlucky and it usually takes alot longer

Just bought a private plate to put on my new Dooper (due 1st Sept) and the paperwork arrived from the DVLA within 5 days. Just need to drop my purple piece of paper off at the dealers - he already knows the reg.

I can beat that.I ordered two plates off the DVLA the guy said I should have them within ten days. I ordered them on the Tuesday lunch time and they arrived on Thursday. Two days..I was rather impressed
