Offline | Seats and pulling them back/forward Didn't know where else to put this question, hope no one minds it being here. Anyway, does anyone else have trouble with the seats when trying to get passengers in the back of the Mini? When I pull the lever up for them to get in the seat 'folds' (and I think I the passenger one moves, I forget) but they don't seem to go back where they came from. For example, I let someone out the driver's side earlier but then had to reset the seat. Am I doing it right? |

Offline | Seats will go back to where they came from if, and only if, the whole seat with the backrest still tipped forward is pushed back, then the backrest lifted. If the backrest is lifted before the seat is moved backwards it will stop in a forward position. |

Offline | In addition, there is a wee clip thing on the runner that should be pushed forward when you have the seat in the rear entry position. It is used for the memory position, if further back than your seat position, the seat will not stop where it should. To move it, lift the back rest and slide the base forward, locate this wee bit and push it forward. Watch out you do not get your fingers nipped ![]() You may see it on the runner bas on the left hand side of this image: RealOEM.COM * BMW R56 Cooper FRONT SEAT RAIL Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | The trick is to push the seat down and back, and only lift the seat back up when it's gone as far as it can go. This isn't just a problem on the MINI - it effects lots of 3-door cars. |

Offline | Yeah I used to find that if I folded the seat forward to let someone in the back, when I pushed it back and lifted the seat back at the same time, the seat would stop really far forward. But now, I keep the seat back folded and push the actual seat as far back as it will go and THEN lift the seat back - and it is fine every time now, always in the correct place. |
