2day i made an account on a german webpage, where you can enter the date / liters fueled on your car' and looked up the different Cooper D's .. i was shocked...
Feel free, to make your own account, and make the stats better.. from reading the threads inhere about fuel consumption, i was convinced that the Cooper D could do MUCH better than what i just saw.. and told the bank, the same thing, as a good reason for buying the Cooper D
Mine is new, well 800 miles new and the engine is very tight. MPG should improve as they all do with mileage. Currently getting abot 58 mpg with mixed driving.
Hi, mine is also new, 300 miles now and I'm getting 47mpg mixed (60% city 40% road). I'ts now great but I think the 17'' wheels and 205 tires are not helping also.
Into the 2nd week of ownership.
350 miles covered - mixed - 60% city 40% rural. (11 miles each way)
Not been able to use the stop start yet, as the city traffic keeps moving slowly.
So 55 mpg at the moment is not so bad.
When I test drove the demonstrator over the same journey it returned 65 mpg.
So I take it that the cold weather and tight engine is affecting the overall consumption.
I have the 17 inch 205 run flat tyres, the demonstrator had the 16 inch standard wheels.
as stated the engine will be tight for a few thousand miles and things will improve.
ours has done about 50mpg over the first hundred miles, my ZT260 V8 struggles to manage 20mpg, but its worth it
ZT260 V8 struggles to manage 20mpg, got offerd one the other day 55 plate spotless in black it was only 12K and had low mile's on it....but its a Rover even with 4lt its still a Rover.
Still it was a great price.....the guy was wanting rid of it as he never drives it now.
My average drive is two 28 mile journeys a day - to work and back. About 20% of the journey is on roads where I do 30-60mph, and the other 80% is Motorway, where I generally stick to about 75mph.
I once managed just over 72 mpg, on a 15 mile motorway journey - I think I must have had the wind behind me
I am generally happy with my fuel consumption - its just the price of fuel
