I hope you don't fit it straight away so you can give me a review of the before and after

...considering one myself if it's any good. Most cars I know of nowadays though are barely affected due to the subframes etc.

When i had a Peugeot 206 5 years ago, i had on fitted.... didn't notice it... untill one morning i had to take the car into service, so i removed the strut brace, so the garage would'nt charge me 30 minutes because they wasnt able to change the oil because of it.... when i exited our driveway without the strutbrace, i thought the car had a puncture, because i swayed as much as it did !

But i'll wait a few weeks to fit it, to see if there is any difference ! - and report back here !

I think it will do wonders !

That's entirely dependant on the quality of the brace, at least half of them (not naming names here!) are almost entirely decorative

ha ha, nice try!

I'll just say that Brunel appears to be alive and well and working at Blandford, in Dorset

JCW Strutbrace & R56 Cooper D

According to a recent internal BMW-Mini memo for customer services dated 20.09.2009, the JCW suspension strut brace cannot be retrofitted to the R56 Cooper Diesel.

Granted that the JCW parts brochure may imply to the contrary.

The installation notes, available on genuine-miniparts.com, confirm this is the case, but do not give a reason why.

Apparently the diesel engine is slightly taller than its petrol counterparts, hence there is insufficient clearance without making modifications to the bonnet.

Has anybody tried to fit one to confirm/disprove this is the case ?

All I can say is that the GT Tuning brace, which GTT believed should have fitted my Dooper, did NOT fit over the taller engine. I am now waiting for a modified GTT to be supplied to me. And here it is. Currently a one-off made for me.

Already the steering feels much more tight and even more like a go-kart.

GTT is the best and Roland did a one off for Nick, well what more can you ask of a specialist. His kit is good, I have 3x braces and pulley etc fitted by Dave at ThinkMini.

Is this a part that can be fitted by a novice?

I'd like one of these too. Very nice.

I like driving in my car, it's not quiet a Jaguar.
