Offline | 2 MINI family at last!! Dooper Mk1! *now with write up and pics* ...well its not mine, its on 'borrow' from Specialist Cars for 24 hours (thank you sooo much!! )I nearly didnt go ahead with going to get it, because as some of you are already aware, my nan passed away at lunchtime My mum and grandad were happy for me to carry on, and i figured it would help me to take my mind off things and keep me occupied ![]() Its a brand new Cooper D in Pepper White with Black Roof + Mirrors, CHILI Pack, Clth/Lea Ray Carbon Black, 17" Crown Spokes, 3-spoke MFSW, White Indicators, Dark Grey Colourline and Piano Black Interior Trim, Sunroof, Aero Side Grilles and the factory aero kit! It had 333 miles on pick up with a consumption of 47mpg Its sat outside with 367 miles and a consumption of 50.2mpg ![]() I can safely say i love this car and cannot wait for mine to arrive ![]() Ive 'lived' with the car for a few hours and there are one or two things ive picked up on.... - the main beam doesnt click on like i expected, it works different to mine - im soo glad ive ordered Xenons! This car has standard headlights and they arent a patch on the standard lamps on my car!! - the wipers work in an odd way ![]() - i finally got the speed in the rev counters top display and i like the new gear change indicator too!! - i wouldnt ever order a Pepper White MINI It was clean when i started and is already filthy ![]() - i really dislike the factory body kit, and when i picked it up i moaned about having to drive around with it on the car ![]() - i was worried about the gap between wheel and arch but this MINI is on 17s as well and its not as bad as i first thought ![]() - im glad ive ordered Sat Nav as the standard setup is fiddly and confusing, ive managed to turn on the radio and am listening to a CD but i cant work out how to turn it off ![]() Ive driven it home, down to work and back so ive driven it on roads i use everyday. Ive tested its chuckability on my favourite roundabout, though had to be carefull coz its wet (and theres a £500 excess on the insurance )Tomorrow i hope to take it down my favourite road and test its 'fun factor' down there, though from what ive experienced so far i love it! Ive taken a few pics, but will try to get some more tomorrow, weather depending ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by supa-dupa-cooper : Jan 5th, 2008 at 02:05 PM. |

Offline | Sorry to hear about your Nan. I hope you have better weather tomorrow. today was the first day out in my Dooper on 'greasy' roads and I felt a bit of wheel spin a couple of times! Yes, the main beam, wipers and Audio selection is a bit odd, so it's not just you! How come you persuaded Specialist Cars to let you have a test drive when you've alreay placed an order? Would they lend me an S for a weekend? ![]() |

Offline | I know them quite well now, the Dooper will be my 3rd MINI from them so you can imagine how much ive spent. I asked about a month after i'd ordered if I could borrow one, and they advised me to wait till now so it was a brand new car and had the stop/start (as their previous demo didnt) Theres no harm in asking them ![]() |

Offline | I hope to take it to Ashwell tomorrow, and judging by the state of it at the moment i think i might have to give it a quick once over before it goes back ![]() But its cool having 2 MINIs on the drive The neighbours opposite wondered what was going on as they saw me move mine to the back then i turned up in another one!And i confused the security guard at work, as i went down there to take the pics, and he's not used to a white MINI. |
