Offline | To disable the EGR is the only right thing to do ! I did it on my 2.0 8V HDI' engine, and it worked PERFECT, and gained 2 miles pr. liter diesel, as i don't have to process the smoke from the engine twice'.... Perfect compustion is made from fuel and air, not exhaust gasses ! |

Offline | I was wondering what you trying to bleed? Are you actually trying to block it off? I wouldn't do that because the engine management on a car with a DPF is extremely sensitive. If you start making modifications and trying to trick the ECU then the DPF could heat up out of control during a regen cycle leading to a fire (without EGR the exhaust will be hotter and contain more NOx). Also DPFs are expensive and shouldn't need changing until 90,000miles (I bet thats why XL TLC runs out at 80,000 ). |

Offline | As much as it is an easy way to make more power it will screw up the emissions control systems. This is the problem with modern diesels. The cleaner they get the more fuel they consume. All the crap in the exhaust pipe is just restricting the engine. Its a bit early to be tuning the dooper and considering that BMW themselves had to recall some early Doopers to remap to reduce the risk of DPF fires it not something I'd like to try. |
