Offline | ground clearance This is my first Mini and I've noticed there is not much ground clearance at the front. I have managed to scrape the front of the car when i was driving down an exit ramp in multi storey car park and over a traffic calming hump, maybe i was driving too quickly. Fortunately it does not appear to have caused any damage as it was the flexible strip under the front bumper that made contact with the ground. I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this. |

![]() Time for CHANGE ! | You are lucky, our GP is about 1/2" lower than a standard GP and thats lower than any MINI unless it's got tricked out suspension. I dread sleeping poiicemen and ramps at any speed ![]() Luckily it's only black plastic thats scraping away and it often sounds worse than it really is. ![]() |

Offline | I haven't hit any speedbumps with mine yet, but it makes getting up the driveway after a big snowfall difficult. I removed mine last weekend as my car had become a snow plow. It was quite easy with the right tool. I'll probably put it back on in the summer as it hasn't been an issue otherwise. Whether or not it actually does anything aerodynamics-wise I don't know, but I like the looks of it. ![]() |

Offline | Caught mine in the local Asda car park. The ramps to each lane vary in steepness, and there is one in particular for MINI drivers to avoid ![]() Thought this sort of thing only occured on sports cars ![]() |

Offline | The plastic flaps on the underside of the bumper are just there to give you a warning really. If only heard the dreaded scraping once, and that was when I parked too near a high kerb. Remember a lot of people try to lower MINIs, so they will hear the 'warning' more often. |

Offline | Yep theat strip tends to hit most speed humps and ramps up and down, including the ones up and down garage hydraulic ramps! Nothing to worry over though as its normal. My aero fronted, 35mm lower S really catches all the time. Unless the actual bumper hits (rather than the flappy strength lip) don't worry too much. Obviously dont just welly over stuff letting it hit, but don't panic if it does is all I'm saying. |
