Online | Best one I’ve had was a squirrel drop right in front of me from above, it was a fair height as well and must have missed the other tree. So one minute the back road is clear, next there is this mad wee thing dead centre of me. Fantastic thing was it actually hit the deck, went as flat as it could went under the car missing everything and when I looked in the mirror it stood back up took a wee look and bound off as they do.. Mate hit a poor Rabbit in his 2.8 Granada with spoiler at the front doing well over 100…..( aaa those were the days before Cameras) and it disintegrated and made mess of the car. Thing had no chance with the car having about six inches clearance. He’s hit a few things come to mind, must be just him…I’ve only had the close encounter with the Squirrel |

Offline | I was in a car a few years ago (not a MINI) that hit a Pheasant at 'significant' speed, near Brize Norton in Oxfordshire. There was a loud thud at the front bumper, and the bird went under the car. As we looked behind, it was a like a scene from a cartoon, with the bird disintegrated and a lot of feathers fluttering to the ground. The car broke down about a mile later, due to damage under the engine! |

Online | Once had a sheep on Skye go head to head with me, It won I had to wait till it shifted. Sad thing was I was sh*t scared it would ram the front of the car, plus it just had that look about it you know the one that just says “I’m taking no c**p today go on push me!” I always think Andy that its when you think back and to you and the passenger and that Final thought before it hit the front of the car. It usually come down to one of two wards….. ![]() |

| Dodgey, er, dodgem driver | The pheasent population around Burnham Green is now much lower than it was a few years ago due to me driving around the field in the Shogun or the Jeep. I think in the last 3 years I've managed to 'mince' 6 pheasents 3 rabbits a handfull of squirels almost had a fox!! (I blame the Jeeps dim witted Auto Box for that lol!) 1 domestic cat (I was mortified!!) and I was about 3 inches away from chewing up the neighbours dog too ![]() A friend of mine killed a pheasent in Digswell and he gave it a ceremonial burial Taking it too far if you ask me ![]() |

Online | Don't ask about mowing down animals! In my previous car, I managed to run over 2 rabbits in the course of 2 weeks. I work in a independent school situated down a country lane. The amount of rabbits at around 9/10 at night that want to go on a suicide mission is crazy. The 2nd one just ran out between the front and back wheel and i felt the thud from my back wheels. |

Offline | I had one day where I went back to my house, had a sparrow come down and fly level with my grille, away from me at about the same speed then just get out of the way!! - got ready for a party and went to pick up two of my friends, on the way to her house a pigeon swooped down from the side and I just missed, then on the way to the party a blackbird came down and smacked the windscreen so hard, looked back and saw feathers in the air and the bird on the floor!! Plus had a rabbit run out about a week or so ago and heard it hit, but went back a minute later and nothing to be seen, so musta caught the back and lucky blighter got away!! But anyway back on topic to Jo's car? ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Well, as a couple of you know, I’ve been struggling with my car. I’ve been struggling to like it properly since day 1 really, being really really unsure about it all the day before collection and then with what happened on collection morning to top it all off. Then the side skirt problem turning into a bigger problem than it should have been and taking numerous attempts to fix properly and then the car being in the workshop for a full week with the stop but no start problem I had. Since I had that problem I’ve really had issues with trusting the car, knowing that it had had that problem means that I panic every time it cuts out incase it wont start again! Within the first 8 weeks of ownership the car was back in the garage for 7 full days and I had 4 different loan cars, not to mention all the hassle I had inbetween time, and I dont think I have yet gone a full week without something happening to do with the car, whether it be going back to the garage, or on the phone to someone from MINI. The problems may not seem that major to anyone else, but to me, having had 2 ‘perfect’ MINIs beforehand that only went back for something like a service, its been hard to put up with everything that has gone on. Its really not helped me to like the car at all, I have little trust left in it and I feel like im waiting for something else to go wrong, and to be honest its all dragged up the feeling of regret of buying the car (seeing my old MINI on the road didnt help either!) Don’t get me wrong, the Dooper is a fantastic car, and I do like it! But (call me stupid if you like) I cant live with a car that I don’t trust and feel like its only a matter of time before the next problem. I realise its all under warrenty and that the car is only 2.5 months old, but its all the hassle that comes with it, I bought the car to drive it, not have it sat at the garage being repaired! I also realise that its not a perfect world and that the next car could be a whole lot worse, but the way I feel about mine at the moment (I was really hoping that I‘d start to like it properly and start to trust it again), and the problems I know its had…..I dunno, it’s a really odd and difficult situation! ![]() Anyway, after calls and visits to the dealer, today I made the final decision, and Puzzle MkI is being sold. I am disappointed as I was so looking forward to this car when I ordered it back in September, but Puzzle MkII is on its way and hopefully we can start again ![]() |
