Offline | Mini Cooper Diesel fuel consumption Purchased my mini cooper diesel in April 2008, paid £18,250.00p. Currently run a Range Rover Vogue that allthough fantastic to drive returns at best 29.7mpg at 70 mph on the motorway. I wanted a fun nippy economical and Funky car that the wife and I could run around town etc.. Currently done 1,500 miles on this extremely agile run around and today drove from Durham to Leeds. Computer trip reads avg MPG = 77.3 Mpg @ and avg of 60mpg. Book said 80.01mpg I nearly got there target.. With £35.00p annual road tax and London congestion charge exempt its a now brainer whenit comes to saving on fuel economy. The rangee has been parked on the drive for the past month and looks like it will shortly become extinct with the angle of attack from goverment eco warriors, the mini is a little corker although to small to drive the family in comfort, it has fantastic leg / head room all the bells and whistles on. Think I will apply for a sales position for Mini UK!! ![]() |

Offline | Friend has one of the most expensive Range Rovers in the country, Well that’s what they told him when he picked it up. It’s a fantastic comfortable state of the art machine. Great for trips with the family and he takes it when he’s going to his boat. He bought his wife a new Mini (she cant even drive) Thing is his leather seats with some silly piping cost half the price of a decent Mini in that they cost 9K. I’ve been in the luxury Range Rover driving back to his house only for us to pop out in the Mini to the local Takeaway, in saying that its six miles away. I did not really feel anything in the Range Rover apart from the sheer size of the thing and the height you sit at but in the Mini the short run was Enjoyable, fun I came out it thinking I’d love one on my drive. Point being he uses the Ranger Rover to impress and the fact it’s like his front living room on wheels, but emits he loves the fun of the Mini. Even his M series Convertible which I Emit is simply stunningly fast is not as much fun. I always think people are thinking in the Convertible (You Flash Prats), plus he has to park the Mini behind it on the drive just now as the garage is full of stuff to stop it getting nicked even with its two trackers, its been tried three times. Mini wins my Vote, great fun, not to Flashy, park any place and best of all did not depreciate about 20K like the rover has done since new. |

Offline | Im not buying a Range Rover so we're ok ![]() With any luck in 5 weeks time Puzzle will be gone Got to work out when to take off the decal, Phil has advised to use a hair dryer to warm the decal up and then peel it off starting at one edge. Is it likely to leave any residue behind?! Should a polish over the roof when its off make it ok? Ive also got to remove my front grille, remove my side grilles, and rechange over all the bulbs. |

Offline | What makes you think that The reason im taking all the bits of is coz ive bought those seperatly, they didnt come on the car and I dont really want the dealer to have them ![]() Hmm, a nice warm day Some numpty at work tried to tell me that taking the decal off would take the paint off the roof as she 'had that trouble with a GB sticker' Considering its only been on 2.5 months, thats not likely to happen, and then theres the fact its a bit different to a GB sticker ![]() |

Offline | You'd best get on with it Jo . Five weeks might seem like plenty of time, but it will soon go . You don't want leave it till the last minute, and then have to rush to do it all. A hair dryer will get the decals off fine . Just take your time when doing it .I don't know if they will leave any residue though. I would have thought you'd have a car care product to get it off if it does. |

Offline | Phil told me that too, worked a treat on my stickers Just heat it for about 10 seconds, which is what i did (all over the sticker, moving slowly) then get your nails underneath a corner and peel it off (I have NO nails...so trust me anyone can do it ) - add extra heat if it needs some persuasion.![]() |

Offline | Oh my word!!!!! No way!! ![]() Just popped on to this thread for a nosey and have read that you're selling your Dooper!! My guess is that your next car is going to be a MCS. Because you mentioned you didn't enjoy the drive of the Cooper and well don't think you would get a Dooper as quick in your area??? Am I right? Am i, am i, am i? ![]() It's such a shame that you feel like this but I guess you will be moving on with a brand spanking new car! Good luck with it, and don't forget to keep popping over to the Cooper D forum to say hello ![]() |
