Hello

How do these mpg figures convert to miles on a tank? (guess I need the mini tank size)

My car doesn't tell me mpg so I'm used to thinking "This tank cost me £55-£60 and I got 450 miles out of it".

Thanks

The Clubman D has a 40L tank giving a nominal 485 miles per fill. I refill at 400 for a safety margin to allow me to find BP Ultimate as this is sometimes difficult to find. (Because that's the best you can get!)

I've had my dooper since last October, and I've done just over 10,000 miles. Generally very mixed traffic (Central London, M25, Local roads), always with 'sports' turned on and generally quite 'revvy' in style. Over the whole duration, my mpg is pretty constant at 55.6mpg, always with the cheapest diesel I can find.

I usually fill up at the 430 mark and will get 35 litres in before the pump cuts out. That works out to about £40.

I have now tried a couple of tankfuls of BP Ultimate - and didn't get any better mpg still hovering around the 63-64 mark. Maybe it was a little smoother, not entirely sure.

One thing - why does the Cooper S have a larger tank, it would be great if the Dooper had this too, to give even better range!

It needs the larger tank to give a decent range as it eats the fuel!

I took delivery of my Dooper 2 days ago and I've only done 150 miles of short journeys. OBC says it's already doing 52MPG.

I did Melton Mowbray and back from Cornwall mid-week (to see minipirate)......75mph on cruise on the way up....80mph on cruise on the way home.....60mpg on the OBC for the round trip!!!!
The Dooper had done 600 miles on leaving the house, and nearly 1200 miles when I got home, so very early days in the life of the engine.

On updating my google-docs xl mileage sheet it confirmed 58.3mpg, so the OBC wasn't too optimistic.

I was quite happy with those figures

I get a solid 59 mpg from my own calculations (my trip computer reads 72.9!!!) ...too good to be true obviously!

I do 156 miles round trip Mon-Fri...

I'm getting the same mpg values as my previous car which was a Renault Clio Dynamique but that had only 86bhp and 200 Nm... so given the increas of both bhp and torque... i'm quite pleased considering it's a lot more sprited to drive!

I'll be going for a remap quite soon and a professional detail so i will post my experiences when it's all done I'll take lots of pics if i can for those interested.

Oh, back on topic, after the remap, i'm hoping for a much better driving experience (hoping for more pulling power at the lower rev range!) and due to the promised increased torque hopefully slightly better mpg values as well *crosses fingers*

OT: I'd been considering the Dynamique at the same time as the MINI.. it seems I made the right choice with the Dooper
