Wink Dooper speccing x2

Ok here goes after an absence from the mini world I am coming back with a vengence in the form of two Cooper D's (His and Hers)

After the budget I am not willing to pay £430 for my 5 or £220 for my wifes 1 so the Cooper D at £30 is a bargain.

So anyway heres what I'm lookin at

His

PW/Black roof and bonnet stripes
Chilli Pack
Lounge Leather in black
Piano Black trim
Anthracite Headline

Hers

Astro Black all over
Chilli Pack
Tuscan beige leather
Piano Black trim
Rear tinted windows
5 star blaster wheels

You may or may not of noticed that on mine I have missed the wheels, for this I need some direction any help will be appreciated as I'm not sure whether to go after market or the flame spokes or just stay with the blasters.

So what do you guys reckon

Used to own a Mini One how I miss that car but once stolen was never the same.

Wow - double the fun of speccing...

Visibilty pack s a must-have on both I would say

Personal choice would also be MFSW.
The other option I am really happy with is Xenon, but that depends on how much you wish to spend/drive in the dark.

There are some threads around here for wheels, but I do not understand enough about them to go with anyhing other than standard (even though I do find the ride quite bumpy at times...)

My vote so far is with hers...

Come on - the car tax is just an excuse for two new cars!

It's going to take you a long time to recover the £400/year car tax fom the money you spend on these two babies.

The two options I love are:

Bi-Xenons - a 'must have' in my opinion as they make such a difference. They are impossible to retro-fit if you change you mind later.

Bluetooth/USB - the 'hands-free' phone is obviously good, but the convenience of having 1000s of music tracks on one small cheapo USB stick is brilliant. You also get the MFSW and cruise control too!

I must admit speccing two has its unique difficulties as you don't want them to be too similar.

The car tax is a great excuse to buy a new car whic I have to admit is one of my favourite hobbies.

I have added Sat nav to mine I think!!! Supa Dupa is it any good? I have it in my 5 and think I would miss it.

Caroline is also working on the same theory as you Supa as in she has now added
IPod integration
PDC
Climate control
Armrest
Auto dimming rearview mirror
rain sensor auto lights
and I've added the clear indicator lenses to both

Whats included in the visibility pack?

Used to own a Mini One how I miss that car but once stolen was never the same.

I love the sat nav!! Not only can I not get lost, but its far easier to change settings of the car, and control the radio/ipod features, and the tunes are displayed on the screen.

The nav gives you traffic info, so you can check main roads around the area, and it also gives you the option to amend the route if there are traffic problems on it

A couple of shots of mine -

Oooh shes well trained then, good stuff I do like the Climate control (which you have to have with sat nav by the way ) its quite clever how it works, well i think so anyway

The only thing I wish I had specced now is the Bluetooth, but hopefully that will be sorted in the next few months

I think the MFSW is worth it and the cruise control included could end up saving you a speeding fine/points /fuel, basically money! I use mine where you have these point-to-point speed cameras on the motorway or where I know there is a speed camera.

Looks like your getting a raw deal Only joking, they're both brilliantly spec'd. I'd say Flame Spokes, but then I would They look brilliant and they don't spoil the ride too badly. Sat Nav and PDC would be cool because you get a display telling you where everything is - Like in a 5 Series I suppose Best of luck with whatever you decide to choose

If you want some nice MINI alloys, these are the ones *drool*

Oh im totally in agreement with the MFSW, I wouldnt want a car without it now having had it twice!

The visability pack includes -: Heated Front Screen, Rain Sensor, Anti-Dazzle Rear View Mirror and Auto Headlights

Oh and I think Xenons are a must, having driven a Cooper and Dooper with standard halogens on the R56, they are pretty dire (the standard halogens on my R50 ONE were better!!) but the Xenons are amazing

...this is the exact reason I should be banned from car speccing....but i'd do well if I worked for MINI

I was waiting for you to wax lyrical about the web-spokes They're going on my Mini if I can afford them

MFSW gets another vote here - Its brilliant - Operate the radio through the buttons on the steering wheel (the dash ones still confuse the hell out of me!) then get Cruise Control thrown in for free - Thats how I see it!

it is most defiantly one of the toughest things to do - spec a new mini! having had my mini for just over 2 weeks now i have realized which extras are most useful....baring in mind i haven’t had another mini to compare things i don’t with it!

Bluetooth/usb is a must must must as far as im concerned - i have the nav also and it works fantastically with it.

I have the flame spokes and IMO are the nicest wheels bar some of the JCWs ones (will post pics in a couple of days!)

The MFSW is brilliant and so much so I drove another car yesterday without a MFSW and i was trying to turn the volume down with the 'imaginary' volume control on the wheel! never touch the centre console anymore.

The final extra I deem very important is the xenons - it almost feels like ur driving during the day at night time...and safety is the most important thing!

good luck speccing!

If I were speccing mine again I would add the visibilty pack as memories of frozen mornings over winter are still with me.. I am glad I went for the MFSW it's well worth having.

I have the Bridge Spoke wheels on mine - really like them!

oh, yes - SatNav is brilliant - the way it integrates is just perfect. It combines well with the PDC and settings menus etc. I have the iPod connector and am very happy with it, but the Bluetooth might be a good option

MFSW was a requirement even before I decided on the brand of car and it adds the cruise control

You do want to have another look at the anthracite lining - I love it, but it dos make the car even more enclosed.

Visibility pack is a given...

So with the sat nav option and pdc does it bring a radar image of the sensors? like on my 5.

Also on a side note I have decided to keep the 5 the comfort is just too much to give up. So I will be getting rid of the 1 so now just speccing the one car. I thought that this would make the speccing easier but it hasn't its made it harder. I have also decided that I like the lightening blue colour.

So now I'm stuck between three colours and 2 interiors. Why is there so much choice its enough to give anyone a headache.

Last time I just bought an ex demo and it took all this hassle out but I want this to be just how I want it. This is where the problem is! How do I want it?

I'm going to sit in a dark room and hope inspiration hits me,

I think every Mini dealer should have every possible mix of colours and interiors after all they would only have to have a couple of hundred of examples

Used to own a Mini One how I miss that car but once stolen was never the same.

The screens shows a picture of the car and how far the things are. I would guess it is the same.

Can't help you on colours etc. When speccing mine I focussed on safety/electronics :-)

Thumbs up

So have you decided what you're having yet?

Gotta agree with everyone MFSW is a must

I called my dealer on 3 separate occasions the week after I ordered my Dooper to add things on

Too many choices!!
