I haven't found switching the aircon on makes much difference - modern cars seem a lot better in this respect.

My aircon makes little if no difference to the consumption

Not sure what mine is on at the mo But y Cooper Clubman is on 36mpg

Just done over 9000 miles and mine is returning 65.5mpg at the moment, a steadily increase from around the 60-61mpg mark during the colder weather earlier in the month

Expecting it to continue to rise during the summer towards the 70mpg mark.

65.5 is amazing, is that a pipe and slippers driving style or just econmoical driving? Mine is on 27mpg which i am pleased wit... hang on wrong section of the forum lol

Just normal driving. I follow what gear the computer tells me to be in unless I need a bit of speed. Most (in fact all) of my driving is country lanes doing 50 to 60 with no really big climbs. I go through 4 villages where I have to slow to 30 and that's pretty much it. When we go to see my folks in West Brom, driving motorways for 90% of the way, I have got 70+mpg

Maybe it's the S bumper and the viper stipes that help

Maybe I need to change my 'average' bonnet stripes then

See I dont always follow the gear change indicator I think im still adapting from driving a petrol MINI for 3 years

I don't follow it religiously...It tells you to go straight into 5 when you're doing 40mph. Hmmmm
