not tried it in the dooper but used it in my last car (mondeo) and saw no difference in economy, performance or engine noise...

I haven't and wouldn't use it in my Cooper D. I tried it in my VW Bora TDI130 and the car never felt the same again! Part-ex'd the car not long afterwards.

I can't recall where I saw it on TV but it was a test of a variety of fuel additives. Might have been Fifth Gear or the Gadget Show. Anyway, the outcome was they made no difference at all and in one case made fuel consumption worse.

These additives sprung up with the advent of ultra low sulphur diesel. Some manufacturers fuel pumps were prone to premature failure with the low sulphur diesels as a result of the diesel having less lubricating efficiency. An additive like Millers DS4 will help with that.

I ran it for a while in my remapped Skoda Fabia vRS. At 190bhp and 283 lb/ft, it runs smooth and sweet, but can grumble on some diesel. I found the Millers DS4 slightly smoothed things out, but not as much as Shell V Power or BP Ultimate.

Fuel consumption wise I found no difference long term, so stopped using it.

Getting my new Mini Cooped D on 1st September. I am really going to miss the thump of the Fabia, but better fuel economy and handling awaits.

EDIT: Just to add, quite a few folks running uprated PD engines run the Millers DS4 all the time.
