On a trip to Fort William from Cambridgeshire in an 07 Dooper, I had 300 miles covered, with 350 miles left. (This was by using cruise at 67mph). The extra-urban mpg in a 08 model is 4 mpg higher, so they should get 36 more miles as shown by Wind Diesel!
The last part of the journey approx 120 miles it dropped to 420 miles covered and 150 miles left because of the need for higher gears on hilly bits (A82)
Having covered nearly 18,000 miles now the engine is more economical. It increased about 3-4 mpg after the 1st 12000 mile service.
Incidentally Wind Diesel, if you add the total miles covered 688 miles / 9 gallons (40 litres) = 76.4 mpg (still impressive, and this doesnt include any extra fuel in the filling pipe)
