2nd TLC SERVICE

Just had my 2nd service done under the TLC package (25000mile service)

I was amazed after doing this milage the air filter was not changed. The only things that were done, was an oil and filter change and a mico filter.
So i decided to change the air filter myself. £31.26 for the filter from MINI. On inspection of the old air fliter, i could see that it was all blocked up with dirt and dead flys. There was no way that i could have done another 12000 miles to my next service with this in place.

So, mini cooper D owners you have been warned. Check your air filters and replace if necesserary.

No surprises here, unfortunately

It's just the same with the air filter on the first generation petrol engines; it's completely shot at 30,000 miles, with the first change due at 60,000 Who dreams up these intervals?!

Tigger.

Changed mine to a Pipercross Panel Filter on my MCS before it's 45,000 service - it was black as black can be! I'm surprised any air was getting through it!

I was under impression they only change it if it needed it-is this what's in the small print?

Does that void your warranty?

Makes you wonder if £150 for TLC is worth it??
My Clubman D is due for its 1st service shortly, and you can bet your bottom dollar it won't get much more than a 15 minute oil change

Clubbin' it and Lovin' it

Not too sure to be honest. I don't think it does though (or that's what Pipercross claim on their website). I let me warranty expire, and didn't renew it.

Yes if there was a major engine problem and they linked it in with the airflow in to your engine, but that sort of prob is highly unlikely

The same people that dreamt up charging £150 (£100 for those of us that bought early cars) for the first three visits to a dealer network that would normally charge more than that for the first one alone.

Put simply, you get what you pay for.
