| Cooper D ordered! Hi all, Well after over a year of not being a mini owner all going well that should change at the end of September as I ordered my Cooper D today. Spec is: Chili Red with white roof and caps Pepper Pack Full bluetooth and MFSW 17" Flame alloys without run flats Lights on & rain sensors Go a bit of a bargain with £1,393 off....looks like the 'non discountable' mini just got discounted! Can't wait! |

| How hard did you have to push for the discount - my dealer has offered me aroun £800 off but I could certainly use a bit more given the extras I'm adding (Chili, Visibility, Media + more) |

| I did something that I normally don't do or believe in and sent them a quote I had received from another local dealer - people do it to me at work all the time (in sales myself). I spoke with them on the phone first and they were adamant that they would beat it but I wasn't expecting by that much. I am also taking a top up loan to clear off the negative equity in my BMW (a lot of maths in the background have proven that I am far better off than continue to pay to run the BMW) so not sure if they are using any bonuses from that to contribute. The have also said that they won't be using mini finance and using another source of funding that they receive bigger bonuses from. |

Hi The Tangman, congratulations on ordering the mini. Sounds like a nice car! Did the dealer give you an actual delivery date? I ordered a Cooper S on the 25th July and was estimated delivery on 1st september (one of their primary selling points on that day in-particular was it would be here on my birthday (1st)). However, the dealer phoned me last week and told me it had been delayed until the end of september (about 4 weeks) because the factory had scheduled double the amount of build allocations that they normally do. They even said some of their customers that ordered mid august have delays until mid/end oct. Sorry if thats going to disappoint you. Thought I would let you know now, rather than a week and a half before you are supposed to get it like I was told. Now Im told it "looks like" the back end of september. Thats assuming the dealer hasnt fobbed me off. Anyways... I'm sure you will get it and love it. Sooo looking forward to mine. |

| Hi Rikkicarroll, they are estimating a delivery date of 31st September which I think is extremely ambitious but they are quarterly targeted and they have to deliver so many in a quarter so the 'business manager will do everything he can' to deliver it for then. Personally I am thinking they are setting themselves up to fail and one thing I always work toward is under promise and over deliver - if it's something I have learnt about BMW/Mini dealerships is that they over promise and under deliver unfortunately! It would be lovely to have it for then but I doubt they will so thanks for letting me know what is happening with yours, I am a little envious of you ordering the s but this time round it wasn't practical for me. When I ordered my s two years ago it took seven weeks to deliver and yes it was about two weeks late from the expected date. I guess it all depends on what stock on Mini have already built and how customised your particular car is. |

This is the first new car I have had, and also the first petrol car i've had. I think I will be more envious of your Cooper D when you are getting approx 50 MPG and I'm struggling to get 30MPG. Im fortunate enough to be at that stage in my life where i have a little freedom for the next few years and I wanted something that perhaps wasn't as practical as I had before and will have in the future. I love the chili red and white combo you have ordered (you will have to post a pic when you get it), I actually almost ordered that myself. I went with the horizon blue in the end, I haven't even seen a mini in the colour - only the sample metal plate in the dealership - bit of a silly gamble perhaps . I test drove the Cooper D as well as the S and the D is an extremely refined and smooth ride, if I wasn't with the less sensible half (the influence of partners eh?) that day it would have probably been the one I got. |

| Fair play...nice colour my s was dark silver with black roof and so is the BMW I have now and the last two cars before those so I thought it was time for a change! I was in that position when I ordered the s but then the good lady fell pregnant with twins so with a bit of pressure I ended up chopping it in - in hind sight I should have just kept it as we ended up having to buy her a new car as well! With the extra mouths to feed the fuel savings are a great attraction and the reason why I couldn't justify the s again. One day, one day! You will love the car - it is the reason why I am coming back to mini, once in your blood! |

| Arrived yesterday...took her out with the family on the Derek Woodman Blackpool Illumination run, done about 150 in total and getting 53.4mpg - that was with a stop start crawl yesterday through the illuminations and a crawl to work today so I am well impressed with that! |
