Remapped today...

Sorry, I am not going to be able to provide lots of before and after info as my car had only done 40 miles around town when I had it mapped today...

Carried out by Veil Tuning in Northampton, the map is fully TUV approved, they warranty the map against dealer re-flashes for 3 years, in other words will re-apply the map for free..

As a result of the TUV approval the tuner provides an insurance backed (Adrian Flux) warranty agianst cliams for blown turbo's etc or any other warranty claims that can be placed at the door the remap.

Estimated approximate increases are around 30bhp and around 45ftlbs of tourque, as the map is very middle of the road to maintain its TUV approval it is also expected in increase fuel economy... All of these effects would be far more noticeable in a car with more miles than mine...

In terms of driveability, and I dont have a lot to go on, it feels way, WAY better... great pick up lower down the rev range and all the way to the limiter, increased tourque means it pulls much harder in all the gears and contributes to the better fuel economy in that you dont need to be as heavy with the right foot...

I am sure I will get asked how, much? Happy to say £380 and takes about an hour as a full back up of the standard map is taken, emailed to germany to check, the appropriate files returned and away you go....

Chris Preston is the chap to talk to....

I will post up again once I have had a chance to drive it some more...

J

Glad you're enjoying your remap, the TUV stuff sounds interesting.

I have to say I doubt their claims of a 30bhp increase if the map is "middle of the road". A number of remapped Cooper Ds that I know have reached about 135bhp, but I don't know of any higher.

When you say this has all been done with the knowledge of your supplying dealer, what was their response? Are they argeeing to honour your engine warranty?

The dealer introduced me to the mapping company, he does quite a bit of work for them, both on mini and BMW i don't expect to have any warranty issues, the maping company have an insured warranty for any potential out of warranty claims... I am not over bothered about numbers just driveability
