Auto Stop Start newbie

Hi all, i know i'm a noob, however i need to know about his stop start nonsense bought my dooper friday and works a treat love it! however this stop start thing has got me confused .....

basically pull up to the lights it stops and second later starts again, and i assume it needs to be warm, but then the engine doesn't cut out when it's warm ... very odd

btw it's a 08 plate

The car decides when to switch off the engine (based on the charge of the battery, load, outside temperature, etc). When everything's working correctly, it'll switch off the engine when you pop it in neutral (with the clutch up) and then restart when you depress the clutch to select 1st gear. For longer stops, it may start up after a while before touching the clutch, especially if you have things like air con on drawing power.

If it's not doing that, it might be worth getting it checked out...
