think it varies from year to year and country to country and model to model....but mini.com should outline it for you...usually A/C, half leather seats, few bits of trim here n there and a few other bits n bobs.

It looks like USA don't have Chili package etc. At least I can't find it at www.miniusa.com

They call it Premium / Sport / Cold Weather / Convenience / Checkmate / JCW Tuning Kit.

But I think someone from USA or more experienced can tell you. I'm new to this

Isnt A/C standard on all cars in the states? if so there would be no need to add it as an option.

Although with BMW, every thing is an option, even doors

My chilli pack (2002 UK model) was manual A/C, Half leather (upgraded to full) and tinted windows

Yes, generally AC is standard in the US. I purchased min '05 JCW MCS in Texas in the US. AC and tinted windows were standard. And when I asked about a Chili Pack, they had no idea what I was talking about. And, I also had no idea what I was talking about, since I didn't know what it was. I just knew that almost everybody in here raves about the Chili Pack.

In North America the Chili Packs etc. are not available. Some things are bundled together like sunroof and cruise control, but for the most part you select from the (limited) options list.
My experience in the Great White North is that dealers do not have as many items available to them as they would in the U.K. and Europe. I'm certain in the larger U.S cities products would be available through the dealer.
Aftermarket guys in the U.S and Canada do a great job for the most part.
I was recently on the Mini.ca site and for 06 the option list looks even shorter?

I believe the standard equipment in NA cars is much higher e.g. A/C, Power Windows & Locks, Xenon lights etc.

I got a fair amount of options. My JCW MCS has:
-17inch S-Lite Rims
-Performance Sport Seats
-Chrono Package
-Auto AC (thermostat)
-Run Flat Tires (with tire pressure senser)
-Sunrroof
-8 Speaker Harman Kardin Stereo/Sound System
-Auto Rain Sensing Windshield Wipers
-Onboard Computer System
-"Super Charged" etched on the glass

And of course the JCW performance kit.

Additionally there were many other options available, such as the GPS system that I could have had included.

Yes, and in Canada we also get CD Boost, side & head airbags, cruise, MFSW, heated mirrors and sprayer nozzles as "standard" equipment.

But like you say, the option list is a lot shorter here because most of the other options have to be bought as part of a package: ie Sport Package to get fogs & anthracite headliner, Premium Package to get a sunroof, auto dimming mirror & chrome line interior, etc.

Ahh, I forgot, I also have on my JCW MCS
-Head Airbags, front and back (standard)
-Side Airbags, front and back (standard)
-Cruise control
-Auto dimming rearview mirror
-Anthracite head liner
-Fog lights

Do you have the Chili Pak option in Canada?

Thank goodness someone finally asked this question. Since I've been on MINI2 I always wondered what on earth was the chilli pack. Had no clue and felt foolish to ask.

It's an Aussie thing too. On a Cooper S, the Chilli Pack gets you this stuff over and above the other standard equipment. (Costs of option if purchased individually thrown in for good measure)

Cloth/leather instead of cloth ($990)
3 spoke MFSW ($160)
floor mats ($154)
HK sound system ($930)
Xenon headlights ($1160)
17" wheels ($1160)
Climate control instead of manual air ($650)
Passenger seat height adjustment ($100)

The packaging is a bit different on the Cooper, but the value of all the bits and pieces is similar. It's a popular option here, as you don't need to chose too many of those options before it's cheaper and simpler just to pay the $3000 for the Chilli.

My burning question is why is the Chilli pack spelt Chilli, while Chili Red is Chili. Is there going to be a spelling test some day?

Go to www.mini.co.uk
top left 'mini range' select Cooper S
On the page that appears, go to 'MINI KIT' and select 'Option Packages'
A pop-up window appears with the Salt, Pepper and Chilli packs listed for the UK

Thank you tnoy66. Now I can see it's really just a different name for some very similar packages offered in the US. Guess MINI just chose to use different names for similar packages for different countries.

Got it on mine

Half leather, Xenons, AC, LSD, 17in Bullets, glovebox (can't believe its not standard!!), computer, front fogs, floormats and interior light pack

Pretty good value I thought. Probably good for resale to have options like this grouped into a package

In the UK the Chili pack saves you £600 if you were to buy all of the options listed independently.

Interesting, in the US, much of that is standard on the Cooper S
